The rehearsals for Disaster! start on January 4, and I was wondering if we'll hear anything about the full casting by then. I remember The Color Purple announced their casting 2 months in advance, and Shuffle Along announced their casting 4-5 months in advance (of the first preview). Why haven't we heard anything about Disaster! when the first preview is in almost a month?

The ensemble (and the role of Ben/Lisa) has not yet been announced. In the article, it states "Additional cast and design team will be announced shortly." I was wondering if anyone know when "shortly" is.

Ahh. There were only 14 people in the off-broadway production. That article lists 10.
We usually don't get FULL casting stuff until shows go into rehearsals.

Ben & Lisa will be portrayed by Baylee Littrell in his Broadway debut (he's the 13 year old son of Brian Littrell from the Backstreet Boys).

He played the role at the Los Angeles Actor's Fund performance and was absolutely fantastic. It's great that he will be playing the role again (though I still have to scratch my head at Disaster! getting a Broadway run).

I really enjoyed his performance, too! I am happy to hear someone else enjoyed him! I am bias because I've been a Backstreet Boys fan forever (20 years!) and have spent the last 13 years watching the kid grow up and perform.
Cast members from Allegiance are listed in the cast breakdown for Disaster. Considering Allegiance JUST opened, should we assume this means they'll be posting a closing notice sometime soon?
Isn't it just one (Catherine Ricafort)?

God, I hope Seth Rudetsky has a small part. His voice is so annoying and i can barely understand him on Seth Speaks on SIRIUS.
I've never had troubles understanding Seth, but that may be because I know so many people with similar accents. I must confess to a major lack of impartiality with regard to Seth Rudetsky, however -- even though I don't know him personally, I know his dad and stepmom. I'm REALLY hoping for the show to hit it big, even if just for their sake.

Also happy to see Manoel Felciano. Enjoyed him in Sweeney and at ACT productions in SF.
It's a hell of a cast. I assume everyone is taking way less than their normal fee because it's a limited run and Seth is so beloved in the Broadway community.
I just wish they had waited for a house better suited to the show.
It would be smart of disaster can get out of their Nederlander contract and move to the longarce.
I'm seeing some front row tix available for the weekend we'll be in town ... does Disaster! have anything to fear sitting so close? (Audience interaction, tidal waves, etc?)
The marquee is up at the Nederlander. It's a nice logo and design, but it says Disaster on Broadway... nothing about it being a musical, etc? I still have no clue what the heck any of this is.
