There are currently two swings in Fun Home for the kids, Alessandra Baldacchino and Presley Ryan. Is there a difference between the two? If a kid were to get sick, who would go on first? Ali was announced first so I feel like she is the first understudy, and both kids are standby at all shows, but is there a legit difference?

There is usually pecking order but I'm fairly certain it's officially up to the stage manager.

There's no way of predicting 100% but it would probably come down to which swing had the most rehearsal time/most recent rehearsal for whatever role was out.

The decision of which Understudy steps into a track is made by the Production Stage Manager, sometimes with input from management and/or creatives, and is based on what is determined to be the best scenario for the show at that particular performance.
