Today at Barefoot, some autograph collector had a bunch of pictures for Amanda Peet. She looks at one of the pics (where she wasn't wearing a lot of clothing) and says to the guy "You really want me to sign that sexy picture?"
It seemed funny at the moment.

I saw Wicked on it's final day in los Angeles, and they were actually breaking the set down and loading it on trucks as I waited for Stephanie. To get the stuff on though, they had to push it up this big metal ramp which made a LOT of noise. So, when Steph came out she jumped when they put the first thing in the truck.
Okay, it's not really funny, but it was cute.

My most recent moment(s) of idiocy at the Sweeney Todd stage door:
When Alexander Gemigniani signed my playbill, I told him how much I loved him in Assassins and he went, and I quote, "WHOO, Assassins fans!!". That was cute. XD
When Patti LuPone came by, I blurted out, "YOU MADE MRS. LOVETT SO SEXY!" before self-control factored in. I inwardly cringed, but she flashed this huge smile and said "Thank you!"
When Manoel came by, I told him he made me cry during "Not While I'm Around" and he went "Aww", though that's more adorable than anything else.
When Diana Dimarzio came by, I said something along the lines of, "You were fantastic, I love the show, I love what you guys did, and I'm SO GIDDY..."...luckily she laughed.
And, of course, when Michael came out, I said something along the lines of what I said to Diana and Alexander...he went "Aww" and I inwardly melted. Oh, Michael. He joked about my friends and me being fans of the "darker shows" - Sweeney, Assassins - and I shouted (he was sorta far away at this point) "Nah, just the Sondheim!"
...I'm done now.

Posted: 1/29/06 at 10:38pmI wont mention names in this posting but not too long ago, we attended a show and then went for dinner at the restaurant next door to that theater. While we were eating, one of the stars of the show we had just seen came over to our table, said he saw us in the front row and expressed his regrets that he left out 3 pages of dialogue at our performance. He is quite famous for his film work. He then pulled up a chair to chat with us for a few minutes. From this and many other experiences, I am quite convinced that many stars enjoy chatting and receiving feedback from those who pay to see their work.

Posted: 1/29/06 at 10:55pmAfter a matinee of the SALOME reading a couple years ago, the extremely pregnant woman standing next to me at the barricade handed Al Pacino a sharpie pen, pulled up her maternity blouse to show her very round, bare stomach, and asked, "Al, will you please sign my baby?!" Pacino gave me (ME!) this utterly hilarious look, then shrugged and said, "What the hell?", and signed her stomach. Then it turned out that the woman had stationed her husband at the opposite barricade and he was videotaping the entire thing ....

Posted: 1/29/06 at 10:59pmAt the Spamalot stage door some people were coming to the edge of the barricade and blocking the exit for the performers. The stage door manager was like, "you guys need to get back and clear this space." David Hyde Pierce (who was right next to the edge signing something said, "You better do what he says, he WILL shoot you." Everyone laughed. It was great. It's cool when the people who are funny on stage are funny off stage too. It lends some validity to them as a performer. :)

I saw Sweeney on Halloween and Donna Lynne Champlin came out dressed as a pirate and she had a bucket of candy that she was handing out to everyone at the stage door. It was so cute and sweet.
I laughed out loud reading about Patti sticking her head out of her dressing room window. Wish I could of seen that

Ooh, I have another funny Sweeney stage door story. (Mostly becuase it's the show I've seen quite often.)
There was this family that took their very young kid to see the show and they sat in the front row. THEN the family took the kid to the stage door to meet the actors. Mano looked at the little boy and said "You were so good! You just kept quiet and stayed under there the whole time!" (The kid had crawled up under his chair because he was scared.) Then Michael looked at the mom and said "I thought it was a coat until I saw you talking to it!"

Ooh, okay thought of a really funny one...an embarassingly funny one, not cute like lots of these have been, but...oh well
One day at the DRS stage door, I was getting everyone to sign my poster. So Dennis Parlato, John's standby, came out and I had him sign...he looked at me and said you know I wasn't on tonight? and I was like yes, I know you're standby but I still want you to sign blah blah(hadn't seen him yet Dre...), anyway so he signs and then this lady comes up next to me and actually tells him he did a great job tonight. We both started laughing quietly, didn't want to embarass her but I mean, it was funny. As this is happening, Andrew Asnes who was in the ensemble, was coming out and he heard the comment and then he started laughing and as they walked off started saying, yeah Dennis you did such a great job sitting in the dressing room! Then the woman said to me, that was the French guy right? I was like umm...well...no...and explained that he was the standby and what a standby was. I think she was a tad embarassed. I felt bad breaking the news to her, but I couldn't lie...

Once I ended up telling an actor's identical twin that he did a great job and that I really enjoyed the show. Oops. At least he took it well and told me he was the wrong one.
And I even knew he was a twin and had tried to be careful!

Posted: 1/30/06 at 6:41amI've been confused and thrown off by actors' twins too. Man, what ever happened to 'there can be only one'?
