If you don't like my posts, don't read them ! I am not gonna change the way I write and express myself for a rude newbie !!!

Lol - I'm so glad you went to "Spring Awakening" on my recomendation and liked it but totally forgot to warn you about the 'Jonathan Groff Fountain'...as I call it. The perfect spray comes out just like the one in Washington Square Park. But he's sooo good & so darn cute I didn't care. It IS most definitely unnatural though - haha.

um, all I was doing was saying that I didn't really like the fact you don't ever seem to use a full stop. If you use a ! at the end of sentence, it then stops illustrating excitement, as without a full stop there is no contrast between excitement and a general statement. For example, if I said 'I had an alright day", I would end with a full stop, as it's nothing that interesting.
Also, the fact that I'm new on this board doesn't detract in any way, shape or form from my ability to make points based on grammar and the english language, thank you very much.

Hey, twitchy+bitchy+manic--lay off our buddy GreekMusicalFan!
Your bitchy comments are not appreciated.
You may your think your so-called "grammatical skills" entitle you to criticize the language skills of someone for whom English is a second language, but in reality, you just come off as boorish and rude.
Those of us who know how much GreekMusicalFan has been looking forward to this trip to America to see 18 Broadway and Off Broadway shows in 2 weeks adore him and adore his enthusiasm, even if we don't happen to share it for a particular show.
But his enthusiasm is something genuine and applaudable...whereas your bitchiness and cynicism is something I hope the rest of us never catch.
And by the way, it's pretentious to call it a "full stop" in the United States. It's called a period. Period.

As far as Groff's diction goes - he actually over-stresses his plosive consonants, in my opinion. He seems to be using an "accoustic" diction when he's in a microphoned show.
You can really hear this on the recording. In "All that's Known" he actually makes the word "Hunger" violent, by forcing it back into his pharynx to produce the "H". It sounds Germanic or French in style.
So, i have to say that his diction is not in fact, "correct" - it's actually a little over the top.
The whole point of using exaggerated diction on stage is to compensate for the larger space and to provide the audience with clear, understandable language. If the audience can hear your modifications, then you're doing too much.
That being said, Groff is wonderful.

Right, I'm copying and pasting a private message i sent to Greek Musical Fan just around ten minutes ago, as frankly, I was a bit of a tit.
<<
After talking to paljoey, I realised I was a bit of an asshole to go and post that on the message board. While the lack .'s in your writing might annoy, it's not really any of my ****ing business. :P Also, as someone who hopes to work in languages in the future (french to be exact) I have to say I think your english is quite a bit better than my French.
If I had a problem with your writing, I should have just said it in a pm originally. I'm sorry.
And I am still thankful for your show reviews, they are quite useful. I can't tell you how jealous I am that you're getting to see all these shows, you lucky person. :P
I hope you accept my apology.
Yours sincerely, Nicholas Courtman.>>

twitchy, your apology is of course accepted, but I do use periods often and I use exclamation marks only when I want to emphasize something ! But talking about Broadway shows is always exciting for me, thus the many exclamation marks. Being a WRITER for television back home, I do know a bit or two about language
And paljoey, they are 20 shows now !! I got a ticket to Gypsy (hehehe) and Spring Awakening was a wonderful addition to my original schedule !

I've seen it with that many understudies. I don't remember who they were for, though.

I sat second row at the Atlantic for Spring Awakening and thought I might need an umbrella for all of the spitting! Glad you enjoyed the show. We did too!

Almost everytime I have seen ACL there has been at least 1 understudy. The very first time I saw it there were 5. Nadine was on for Cassie (before she had one definite day a week), David Baum was on for Bobby, Lyndy was on for Connie, Clayton was on for Richie and I think Jessica Lea Patty was on for Diana.

Out of the seven times I've seen, six times there's been at least one understudy.
First time: Michelle Aravena as Diana.
Second time: Nadine Isenegger as Cassie & Michelle Aravena as Connie.
Third time: Nadine Isenegger as Cassie, David Baum as Bobby & Jessica Lea Patty as Judy.
Fourth time: David Baum as Bobby, Lyndy Franklin as Bebe & Joey Dudding as Paul.
Fifth time: none; but since it was a Sunday Jessica Lea Patty played Cassie.
Sixth time: E. Clayton Cornelious as Richie.

I saw it once and no understudies. It was the ORBC as well

The three times I saw the original revival cast, Ken Alan was not in the show any of the times. Kinda bummed I didn't see the full ORBC at all but oh well David Baum and Josh Walden were great.

Wow, I've seen it at least 4 times with the full cast.
The one day I had all of those understudies I think the list was something like this: Grant Turner (Zach), Lyndy Franklin (Kristine), Courtney Mazza (Judy), Jessica Lea Patty (Diana), Nadine Issenegger (Val)
