GOD OF CARNAGE Rush Policy

"I stand corrected then. Sorry."
When there's even the chance of you standing corrected, perhaps you shouldn't instinctively type/blurt out "That's a lie" like an a***ole, just because you enjoy being snarky to coolkid.
"I really hope they change this policy. I don't think this show is going to be doing spectacularly so I don't see why not."
I agree with you on the first part, it'd be fantastic to be able to rush this show. But having seen it, I think if (and that's a big if) it gets a couple major raves, it could fast become an extremely hot ticket. It's not like a grueling, challenging work that struggles to fill houses even with positive notices; it's a brisk, entertaining, accessible comedy with major A-list stars that will sell very, very well if the reviews are good.

Posted: 3/14/09 at 10:52pmMy guess is that these guys are not EVER going to have a rush policy, they don't need to...I saw it last week from a terrific, discounted seat and I think it's going to be a big hit. And of course it's once again as I write this, but I really doubt after the opening that it'll be up there again!

Posted: 3/15/09 at 2:38amIs it worth getting a TKTS ticket? From what I remember - seeing "13" there - the theater seemed so big, but that might have been because it also so empty.

Totally worth a TKTS ticket.
Along with THE SEAGULL, SPEED-THE-PLOW (once Macy stepped in), HAIR, [title of show], EXIT THE KING, BECKY SHAW and THE CRIPPLE OF INISHMAAN, this is one of the best shows of the season.

Posted: 3/16/09 at 6:02pmI went to the box office on Saturday to ask if they'd put in a rush policy after opening the guy said probably not. The cheapest way to see the show would be SRO after opening he told me b/c he said after the reviews come out it will be a hit and sell out.

Posted: 3/16/09 at 9:02pmJudging by the percentage of seats sold this past week, it seems awfully silly that this isn't just giving whatever is left 2 hours prior to curtain.

I really don't understand why this show doesn't have a rush or lotto. I mean when shows like WICKED and BILLY ELLIOT and THE LION KING aren't selling out, how can they anticipate GOD OF CARNAGE to become a standing-room-only smash? And why can't they just implement the rush policy and if it starts being a huge success, get rid of it? I mean anyway, how would 25 seats or so for rush or lotto make that big of a difference?
This is the only show on Broadway that doesn't have a rush policy or a lotto, correct? So stupid.
And as I say this, I splurged on $59 (which ended up being close to $70) for next Wednesday's matinee. Hah.
