re: good vibrations

Question....is anyone surprised that Good Vibrations is opening its previews on MONDAY (Dec 20th)??? Since Broadway is dark on Mondays, isn't this HIGHLY unusual?

re: good vibrations

black monday's does that mean that no shows are performed on monday's normally? is that like bakers monday most bakeries are closed on monday's! lol!

i guess since most shows they work on weekends i can see why monday would be their day off!

maybe the date dec. 20th is a special preview date for invited guest? not sure how previews work if tickets are sold to it or just invited guest? i have no idea!

re: good vibrations

****NOTE: I just posted this message on a Justin Guarini thread...so if you have already read it, skip this! If not, you might want to read on....*****

Okay, I almost didn't post here. It's my first time. But I decided I needed to address something that I have read on all the threads about Good Vibrations.

I am a 42-year-old woman who happened to be visiting a niece at Vassar when Good Vibrations was playing. We just went because it was there. I had heard of Justin Guarini because of all the hype about American Idol, had seen photos of him, had seen some clips on Fox, but had never watched the show. It's just not my thing. So, when I went to Good Vibrations, I had no particular interest in whether he was in it or not. But after seeing him there, I surely want to keep an eye on what happens to this young man and his career. Let me tell you, he is someone to watch.

I came to this message board to see if I could find out what was happening with Good Vibrations. I had read that it was opening on Broadway but didn't know when. I was hoping that they had cast Guarini in that role. I am truly delighted that he will be appearing on Broadway. Why? Because it means I get to see him again!

For those of you who have not yet seen Good Vibrations, let me comment...you don't know what you are talking about when you "diss" this fellow. The audience adored him, as did my niece and I. He gave 100% every time he was on stage. He was clearly the most "into it" actor of all. He looks amazing. His voice was solid, his dancing was PHENOMENAL, his acting was fine. But most of all, he just owned the stage. EVERYONE there was talking about it. When he was on stage, every eye was just riveted on him. You couldn't help it. He has that certain something that most actors don't. I had always seen pictures of him with curly hair. He doesn't have that any more. I thought he looked great WITH that hair..he looks great with short hair, too.

So, to all you naysayers....I say....go see the show. It needed some work, and hopefully it will be much better in its finished version. But let me tell ya, Guarini DIDN'T need polishing. Again, I sure hope he "makes it" on the stage...he was born for it.
