This show will rely on people from "Minnesota" to survive, if you know what I am saying. I don't think there are a lot of people from New York who are excited to see this show come back. By the time the last revival closed it was pretty much a joke, right?
I don't mean any offense, but the tourists are probably the only ones who will be seeing this, and of course the younger people in the area who don't recall the previous incarnation.

I am from NYC and I am excited to see the show and the entire cast! I do have a particular favorite I am excited to see but I will hold back for now. Yankee, don't tell!! I know a number of other people who want to see it as well, all from New York!!
I think it's going to be a great show!

My cover is blown! Sheesh, does everyone know you're really Max!
Opps! Did I write that? How does one edit these things? New fangled technology, us old people can't cope!!

Don't lump all tourists together, please: I'm in Wisconsin and there are probably a thousand other shows I'd rather see.

I had the pleasure of meeting both of them here in LA and they were both super nice. Wishing them great success and hope they savor every moment.

I'm New England all the way, baby (displaced to NYC)
Go pahk the cah and gimme some chowdah (though I don't talk like that)

Posted: 7/7/07 at 4:09pmOh, alright, I KNEW that comment would not be taken in the way that I meant it to be. Let me try to rephrase. The NEW revival of Grease will be a popular stop on Broadway for the "Oh, we are in NY? I HAVE to see a musical, but WHAT? Oh, GREASE! I LOVE John Travolta, let's see THAT" type of tourists. Anyone with an ounce of taste or who frequents Broadway on a regular basis will probably pass.

Posted: 7/7/07 at 4:24pmAwesome! I wanna be a fanboy too! I want to gripe about actors and giggle during the show! I want to stalk to performers at the stagedoor and pretend we're firends and generally be a blight on the face of the theatre world! Finally my dream will be fulfilled!

Hee- spinach!!
Didn't watch the show, have no idea who 'Max & Laura' are, (but I do think 'Luke & Laura' everytime someone says 'Max & Laura'), so I'm pretty much 'meh' about Grease...but the last show I was this indifferent about seeing before it opened was Legally Blonde, which I have now seen quite a few times, so I fear I might get sucked into another fluff show.

Okay, I finally got some tix to Grease. Max, Laura, blahblahblah and Kathleen Marshall, personality-lite whateva.
I am really looking forward to see what Jenny Powers does with Rizzo. And, for the record, I would pay BIG MONEY to see what Jenny Powers does with her hot hot hot boyfriend, Matt Cavenaugh. But that's another issue entirely.
Any word on how this production is coming together?

The original "Grease" was my very 1st Broadway show & I love, love, loved it! So of course I am very excited to sorta go back in time. But I'm happy too that Stephen Buntrock (see my Avatar with Patty Duke) will be playing Teen Angel. He's just wonderful!
I may have 2 extra tickets for Sat. Sept. 1 matinee cause some friends probably won't make it into town as we planned. We got great seats in row E in the orchestra.
I guess that's good for us ($$$) It's Labor Day weekend & the show's sold out. I may put them on EBAY or Stub Hubb.
Any thoughts?

Posted: 7/14/07 at 11:23pmEarlier what day and what softball games? I want to see her too. May even go to Hairspray to do it. I am going to stage door Grease for an autograph, like a kid I guess. Any tips ...my sister said get there as soon as you can and be prepared to wait. I imagine there will be quite a crowd at the Grease door the first few performances. My sister stage doored Wicked last year and said Ben Vareen stayed and signed for everyone even though his handler was urging him to move along. She also said a lead understudy was on that night, and was ecstatic, signing for everyone. The girl's mom was there too. Seemed like a nice night for everyone involved. Hope Grease turns out like that.
