GREASE - How Can They Assign A Seat In An Unknown Theatre?
GREASE - How Can They Assign A Seat In An Unknown Theatre?#1

Tickets went on sale a day early. I just did a search for 1 ticket for the first preview and it gave me Orchestra Row D Seat 109.
It says Theatre Unknown.
I did another search, this time for Mezzanine. It says:
"FRONT MEZZANINE ROW A OVERHANGS ORCHESTRA ROW J"
How can they give me a seat assignment and know that Front Mezzanine Row A overhangs Orchestra Row J if they don't have a theatre?

I don't know why they couldn't say it on Ticketmaster, or in their ad in the Arts & Leisure, but the New York Times confirms the Brooks Atkinson in their article today.
"Last spring Mr. Taft and Mr. Jacobs finally agreed to the idea. BBC Worldwide and NBC went forward with the television show, and the Nederlander organization and Mr. Ian moved up the Broadway production to the summer of 2007. The current plan is for “Grease” to open, with its already famous stars, in August at the Brooks Atkinson theater."

Posted: 1/6/07 at 9:51amFurther, Moon for the Misbegotten appears to be on sale through June 10 at the Brooks Atkinson. Grease, as per the GreaseOnBroadway website, will begin previews on July 24 and open August 16, so the dates seem feasible.

And considering that the Google listing for "greaseonbroadway.com" is
"Grease on Broadway at the Brooks Atkinson Theater in New York"
I'd fell it's safe to say it's the Atkinson.

Posted: 1/6/07 at 11:04amIt's definitely the Brooks Atkinson, and I believe they actually say so in the premiere episode of YTOTIW.

Posted: 1/6/07 at 11:58amI think this warranted a new thread. However I am upset that there are only 3 ticket levels. $71, $81, $111. Heres to hoping they have discounts/rush.

Posted: 1/6/07 at 12:03pmI see we're our usual nasty self today. I was just offering you a friendly reminder (in fact I learned this from you) as you are so fond of reminding others on the board to do a search before they start a thread. It seems as though you can dish out the smart-a** remarks but can't take them. Why don't you go back to bitter thespianville where you belong?

Posted: 1/6/07 at 12:08pm$111 for amateur's/game show contestants?!!! Who would be foolish enough to pay that amount? I guess P. T. Barnum was right.

Uhhh... only two contestants will be selected from the show, the rest of the cast will be professional Equity members.
The fact that they are chosen through a TV contest, does not make them any less professional or talented than anyone on Broadway.
Besides, I'm dying to see when they cast everyone's favorite star for the other parts
