I am very new to the world of Broadway. I became a fan of Roger Bart after seeing him in London a year ago and when I decided to book a trip to NY to see him at the Winter Garden, I joined this forum to reply to comments about Roger and to try and learn more about Broadway theatre. I have always been a theatre goer, but mostly UK regional and the very occasional West End visit. My interest in Roger led me to things like Falsettos which led me to Andrew Rannells. I thought his Whizzer was fun so I got tickets for Gutenberg! I hope that explanation clears thing up for you and JSquared2.
Don’t feel bad, and welcome to the board. My daughter, who was at the same closing night performance, didn’t realize it was Audra McDonald until after the show. Her name was hard to hear as Andrew Rannells shouted it, and she was wearing that Producer hat. Plus, my daughter was sitting off to the side, in one of the box seats.
And she has seen McDonald twice before on Broadway.
