Please don't anyone tell Ravi that I was in the front row and Patti sang two lines to me. One during Rose's Turn.
*Dies*
ray, they definitely plan to take it to London, but no dates are set.

Rath when IS the official opening?
I always thought it was the 12th. But Playbill.com keeps reporting the opening is the 14th.

Patti's site says the 12th, but her site isn't updated *too* often.

For those of you who have been to City Center, would you say Rear Mezzanine or Front Gallery has a better view?

Front Gallery, I hate the rear mezzanine, it's like a cave.
Now what would you say if today I started over?
Without a thing but this taped together four leaf clover
And I'll pretend like everything is already alright
And I'll run toward the sun till the castle's out of sight

The first time I saw FOLLIES at City Center I sat on the Rear Mezzanine and the view was great for those seats. The second time I saw the show from the very last row in the Orchestra (literally next to the entrance) and actually missed my Mezzanine seat.

I'll be seeing the show tonight and add my 2 cents to this conversation tomorrow. If all goes according to plan, I'll be seeing this GYPSY four times before it closes.

Thanks for all the information. I am so pumped to be seeing it on the 12th and two more times after that. Gypsy is by far my favorite show and I have a feeling I will cherish every moment!
Happy...Everything!

It is spectacular. One of the greatest productions of the show ever.
But TPTB (that would be the money people) have decided against a transfer to Broadway at the Eugene O'Neill Theater and will take it to London for 9 months (or more) instead.

Is there any possibility of Broadway after London? I mean, I'm just happy about London, but just wondering.
But anyway, BWW London road trip! (Or air trip...)

Any talk of this being recorded for PBS?
I know the Peters one was supposed to be recording, but they couldn't get Laurent's approval to record Mendes' production, but that shouldn't be a problem with this.

I think much of this production's future depends on its reception by the critics and its showing at the box office.

God, I hope they record it for PBS. Talk about a dream come true.
I've been wondering about the offical opening too. If I remember correctly, the 12th was supposed to be the offical opening but I've read articles saying it was the 14th. I have tickets for the 12th, but either way Thursday CANNOT get here quick enough.

I saw the dress rehearsal last night and it changed my life. Patti is BREATH TAKING. If anyone has the chance to see this, please run, don't walk, to the box office.

I'm going tonight, 2nd Row Center Grand Tier, cannot wait...

I love it when Patti speaks lines to the audience. I was front row at Sweeney and she looked straight at me during "God That's Good" and then winked right before turning back to the stage. She had a fan for life right then. I cannot wait to see her in Gypsy.

She did that to me twice last night (sans winks, I don't think that would work for Rose), and really, it's a lot of pressure! Am I giving her back what she's looking for? What she needs to go on??
