It flopped for many reasons
The 2 main ones are the economy but the basic one is they simply revive it too much. Yes it is a great show but to revive it every few years is overkill.
I have see Lansbury,Daly & Lupone do it & Lupones was the best. Please put it to bed for awhile.

With such in-the-know analysis, I have no idea why Broadway producers don't consult Mr Roxy before mounting anything.
Stop blaming the economy.
People were just afraid to go see this show and have the leading lady (in isotoners)possibly stop the show and yell at them!
The economy did play a part but reviving a show every 3 years or so is asking for trouble.

For an old man, you are about as mature as a 10 year old.
Much as I'd've loved to see this, I'll be relieved to see it not come to the West End. It's kinda boring watching certain people banging on and on and on and on and ON about how much they hated it, and if the production has no further life, at least they're more likely to shut up within the next couple of months than if the production carried on.

A transfer seems unlikely since the New York run didn't come close to recouping. And, obviously, no taping. It may be that had the run continued, some record could have been made - kind of a shame as this was a classic.

The production was great, youll notice that it is indeed the same people who have nothing better to do than bash. I think it would be greatly received in London.
