I notice there is nothing at ticketmaster anymore about perfs being taped.
Anyone heard anything lately?
There's nothing on Ticketmaster because they don't sell for GYPSY.

bump- whoever sells it- telecharge I guess- I looked at it tonight. People have reported in the last month it used to explain to ticketbuyers about certain perfs of Gypsy being taped for tv. It was bruited that the final perf was supposed to be one of those taped.
No one else interested?
nope
no one cares... now move on

Many people care.
This question has been answered a few times before though.
There was a warning that there would *possibly* be cameras in the theater recording the show for a few performances, but a few weeks ago, the warnings were removed from Telecharge, so it seems that the taping is no longer happening, unfortunately. Many people wanted it to happen though.
What does bruited mean? (It was bruited that the final perf was supposed to be one of those taped.)
I had to look up bruit.
Bruit (pronounced /ˈbru¢°t/, or as French IPA: [bʁɥi]) is the term for the unusual sound that blood makes when it rushes past an obstruction.
"Bruited" = rumored.
Good word.

It's not disappearing. It has been filmed for Lincoln Center's Archives. It's not commercial, but at least it is somewhere.

Cool. I missed that day in SAT prep I guess. :) Thanks.

Skrew lincoln Center. No one hardly ever sees any of Lincoln Centers archives. It is a real shame that this filming is not happening especially considering some of the crap that has made it to dvd.

I'm afraid your double negative has proved positive.

I was merely commenting on the fact that it is not disappearing. It is a shame....but there are far more quality shows on DVD than the not-so-great ones.
I wish all Broadway shows could be bought on DVD!!! What a collection some of us would have!!!!
It's so sad they're not taping this performance!
The show lost money, taping is expensive without MTV backing it, there is no commercial reason to spend the money to tape it.
Give it up.
Most of Patti's allure is seeing and hearing her in person.
Watch some of her movies, her talent does not really translate to film.
But I did like her on TV in LIFE GOES ON but that was a completely different story.
LIGHT IN THE PIAZZA was one of my favorite Theatre going experiences ever, and I could not watch 5 mins of the taping.

Speaking of MTV having to back anything, whatever happened to their backing of Spring Awakening? Think it's to late for them to do anything? They had a big interest in the show when it first came out, advertised it, did specials on it, etc. They did it for Legally Blonde...except I'm pretty sure they couldn't air Spring Awakening on cable television, haha.

Hello. Is there any chance that the taping will done for the last perf on Sunday? from RC in Austin, Texas...
No, you'd have heard something by now.
It's time to come to terms with the fact that this production will not be taped.

Just because YOU don't see Lincoln Center Archives, doesn't mean no one else does either.
I recently watched the entire production of CABARET with Alan Cummings at Studio 54. Ive also watched a few full plays, Interviews, press clips, and much more.
And im not anyone special.
These threads are almost cruel. I keep looking at every one of them somehow half-expecting somebody amazingly stumbled on some actual news none of the rest of us knew.
This thread hasn't been deleted so the plans must have fallen through.

One can hope that they are not taping it because they are hoping to do a London production? One can hope.
Wouldn't you rather it be taped for all to see than to move over to the west end and flop anyway?
