The only real reason I'm surprised that midtown doesn't know who Gavin Creel is is because of the endless jabbering that goes on here about him.
Talented (and I'm sure lovely) guy...but come on. You'd think he was the second coming of the musical Christ.
robbie, is the musical christ related to touchdown jesus?
it's his gay brother.
omg, so he's irish??? wow, that explains so much.
I wasn't joking. Just googled him. He's cute. And his major credits are only Bat Boy and Thoroughly Modern Millie so far. He's no Raul Esparza or Michael Cerveris YET.

I was hoping it would be Max Von Essen but I guess they didn't want a subtext ....
And the world premiere of Stephen Sondheim's Bounce.

Well, you need to go to his website and buy the "Thoroughly Modern Millie", "Bounce", and "Fine and Dandy" recordings!!
Gavin's Website!
While in Virgin's theater section (no surprise to find me there!), a friend told me to stay away from Bounce because Richard Kind just kills an already shaky score. Comments?

Oh, and he has an OK voice, too.

I got to see TMM just after in won the best musical Tony and had a front row seat. While signing my program after the show, Gavin said to me, "You were in the front row; you were having a great time". First, I couldn't believe he could pick out faces in the audience during the show and second, couldn't believe he would notice me, a theatre geek pushing 50! He's a greatly talented kid who should have a great career. Can't wait to see him in La Cage.
