The only new info I gleaned from the latest article is that Bob Martin has (co-)written the screenplay, and they have a "big director" lined up.
I'm wondering if it's Tom Hooper. Although I would love it to be someone like Martin Scorcese (yes, I'm serious) or Steven Spielberg.
Well, whenever they announce it, I'm sure we'll know in the form of some exclusive, breaking news article.
If we can't have Danny Burstein as Adolpho, how about Johnny Depp?
Depp could just slick back his wig from Sweeney Todd, and he'd be all set.
Actually, I think he'd be great in yet another crazy Depp role. I could also see Robert Downey Jr. doing a great job. Or someone out of left field like Christoph Waltz. I'm not sure why I think he'd be hilarious, but I do.
EDIT: Actually, I know EXACTY why I think Christoph Waltz would be hilarious.

Looks like more time and money I'll be saving.
I think if we had Geoffrey Rush as Man In Chair, with Judy Davis as the Chaperone, Christoph Waltz as Aldolpho, Amy Adams as Janet, James Marsden as Robert, Jennifer Hudson as Trix, and Debbie Reynolds as Mrs. Tottendale, I would be in heaven.
That's a perfect lineup- someone has to get Rush and Davis to do another film together- they have such a great, eccentric chemistry. Not exactly commercial, but fantastic nonetheless.
That dream cast.

All the Hollywood and Broadway suggestions are fine, but don't forget that it's a Canadian/Australian co-production with all the strings attached.
I think Geoffrey Rush might well be a box office draw - people who have never heard of "The King's Speech" know of Captain Barbossa.
I want Besty's cast but with Nicole Kidman, Catherine Zeta-Jones, or Charlize Theron as the Chaperone. Amy Adams has got to play Janet! I really do hope this movie happens.
