Posted: 2/27/06 at 2:12pmDoes she prefer to play chorus roles? I think she is an amazing performer, and deserves to have more crucial roles. I saw her as Dainty June in Gypsy several years ago and she was phenomenal.

She IS great. In EVERYTHING.
I want to see her, Hunter, Sutton, and Christian Borle all starring in a show together.

Posted: 2/27/06 at 2:19pmI doubt she prefers chorus roles...but she's probably taking whatever she can get!

I saw them at the SNOOPY benefit and they were MAGIC up on that stage together...One of the most fun shows I've seen.

Posted: 2/27/06 at 3:01pmI was at the SNOOPY concert as well! Jen was hysterical! I couldn't stop laughing. Not to mention that Hunter was soooooo cute as Linus (when he wrapped the blanket around his head -- classic!), Sutton was a fierce Peppermint Patty, and you couldn't ask for more from Christian in his ADORABLE portrayal of Snoopy! What a great show that was. I wonder if it was videotaped. I'd also love a CD of the music. (sigh). That was definitely one of my best theatre experiences since I moved here. Jen Cody is extremely talented, and I really hope she gets her big break some time soon! We love you, Jen!

She was the only one I know who made the character of Cha-Cha in Grease, memorable. She was a hoot!! She and Jon Secada are the only ones I remember from that production (Rosie was gone by then).

chances are AndyF is posting above or below me...

Cody, I believe, is 4'11".
She's a scene-stealer in her small role as Poopsie in THE PAJAMA GAME. She is also the Gladys understudy. I'd love to see her perform that role one night.

Posted: 2/27/06 at 3:09pmI'd love to see her as Gladys, too.

Do you think her height has anything to do with her lack of leading roles?
I've only seen her in TABOO, so I don't know her work really, other than that she is a huge ball of energy that made the best out of her otherwise character-less part.

Posted: 2/27/06 at 3:13pmHer little bits on the Taboo cast recording make me piss myself.

Posted: 2/27/06 at 3:30pmWhen I saw Urinetown she completely stole the show as Little Becky Two Shoes. "No one is innocent?! Who the hell does she think she is?!"
"Shut up! It's been 29 years!!!" --the incomparable Patti LuPone in her MUCH DESERVED Tony acceptance speech for Gypsy.

Posted: 2/27/06 at 3:34pmI can't remember off the top of my head, but I know she has a part in Fame Game. I think she screams I love you, or something like that.

The really obnoxious Sharon-Osbourne-sounding "I LOVE YOU!" during Fame Game.
Priceless.

Posted: 2/27/06 at 3:38pmI haven't seen PAJAMA GAME. Is Poopsie the kind of role that could possibly be awarded a Featured Actress Tony nomination?

No

Perhaps she is better suited for stealing the chorus?
Some actresses do great jobs stealing the show in minor roles - but couldn't carry a show.

Posted: 2/27/06 at 3:44pmCody couldn't carry a show, but she could do featured roles with a few songs. Again, her Dainty June was great.
