i couldn't agree more. i have used those exact works myself. jen is one in a million. i had the pleasure of meeting her on the street one day while on the way to work and i told her that she was a stand out and a ball of energy in every show she is in and she needs to get out of the chorus! she was SOOO flattered and humble and gracious. i love her and think she just needs to have the right thing come her way and TURN down chorus until that right thing comes along. =) nothing wrong with being in the chorus AT ALL...but she is amazing!
It seems like she's been in all my favorite shows. Taboo, Urinetown, Wild Party. Does she have a good enough voice to lead a show? I haven't really heard her sing much. When did her and Hunter Foster meet? I really think she deserves something good. She's great.
Actually, she can carry a show. i have seen several of her performances at the Sacraamento Music Circus, including when she starred in 42nd street. That girl may be small, but she isn't weak. She has a great voice, and she can easily manipulate it to suit her characters. That's why people think it isn't strong, because she messes with it so much. Truly a charming woman. Always kind to fans and a pleasure to work with (so i hear from friends).
Honestly, she's too short to be a romantic lead. Unless they find some guy that's 5'4" or shorter to be opposite her. Does she even have a legit voice? I think it's a matter of finding the right role for her. I'll bet William Finn could write something pretty fantastic for her.
I saw her in a production of Anything Goes last year in Houston starring Dee Hoty and Matt Cavenaugh and Jen DEFINATELY stole the show. Even the Houston papers said so haha. i love her!
I saw anything goes too in houston. She has such a strong stage presence, i always had my eyes on her. Her numbers were some of the best in the show
Yes, I know my profile name is spelled incorrectly. That's what happens when you don't spell check and just push done. I wear it as a reminder to spell check.
I don't know why a guy would have to be 5'4'. Lot's of actresses are short. And there is a trend toward shorter actresses lately. Sherie Renee, (forgive me) the girl who plays joanna in Sweeney, and others.

I wouldn't say that you need a short actor paired with a short actress. You might need a short actress paired with a short actor, but to have a girl who's a foot shorter than the guy isn't anywhere near as weird as having a guy who's a foot shorter than the girl.
(Also think she's great in everything I've seen her in).
Had to bump this thread and ask a particular question about Jen. What is her vocal range? After seeing a less than funny, Glinda understudy in the Wicked tour over the weekend, I was thinking that Jen would be perfect (if she could sing it).

she has a great character belt voice, and i'm sure could do great by popular. but i don't know about the legit stuff in no one mourns and thank goodness.
We saw Annaleigh Ashford as Glinda this past Saturday evening in Philly. Her voice was fine, she just needed major work on the comedic timing. Kendra was a lot better in the role and we were upset that she was out that evening.

So TRUE! She does so much with the small parts she is given. I saw her in Pajama Game and was totally wowed. She really needs a strong supporting role to shine in.

Aww! She must have been the BEST Bonnie! I love this girl!
