I feel exactly the same way. LOL! It just doesn't feel right to think someone is better in that role. Heck, I saw it with both Hannah and Marin this year, and I hated what they did with the songs, and Marin just did nothing for the role, like I mentioned.
From what I've seen of footage, King Arthur at Broadway on Broadway was Mika Duncan, one of the male understudies.
I also saw Merle in her first week, and what I really loved about her was that she wasn't afraid to play and try new things with the role. And, like adamgreer said, her vocals were so great! I loved hearing Find Your Grail and Diva's Lament belted out again. I'm really looking forward to seeing how she develops over the new few months.
When Hannah started I wasn't over impressed (but she was out for a while shortly afterwards, so may well have been sick when I saw her), but by the time she finished I thought she was great. Not Sara great, but definitely very good. And much better than Marin, who has an amazing voice but just doesn't have the larger than life personality and humour that the Lady of the Lake needs. I'm going to see it again soon and am really looking forward to seeing Merle in the role. I'm looking forward to seeing Michael Siberry as Arthur as well, I've liked his TV work but don't think I've ever seen him on stage.
Saw SPAMALOT tonight and I agree with adamgreer. Merle Dandridge was absolutely fantastic...the best Lsdy of the Lake since Sara Ramirez. Clay was also surprisingly good. The show was in great shape, I must admit...no signs of walking through from anyone. I still laughed my ass off. Go see Merle and the rest of the cast before it closes.
From what I remember of Jon Hadary, his performance as 'Arthur' was wonderful - His voice was in top shape and his acting was pretty funny. Not being a Python fan AT ALL, it made my evening all the more enjoyable.

So, I know "Spamalot" has standing room, but do they do it even when it's not sold-out? So, in theory, could I buy a standing room ticket and then just sit up in the mezz?
RentBoy: I believe Spamalot does standing room even when it doesn't sell out. In theory, you could do that, but I remember when I did SRO, the guy said no one could move and if they saw anyone, they would ask them to move back. I moved anyway and got a seat in the front row, and no one said anything. Just keep in mind they could ask you to move.
Hannah has a fantastic voice. There aren't very many videos of her but this one is from the Easter Bonnet Competition a few months ago. The way they presented the Spamalot Easter bonnet is very Pythonesque, complete with skating nun.

Last I heard, you have to stand there for the first act, and then, if there are empty seats, they let you sit down after the intermission.
