like many of you, i was utterly charmed by Kelli Ohara and last years The King and I revival.
So im watching tv, and suddenly "Getting to Know You:" a true rodgers and hammerstein classic, has been bastardized by a credit company as a sing along theme song for identity theft. While admittedly clever, this seems like a terrible misuse of a classic song.

I cant imagine the R&H estate approved this use, or am i naive?
Can they block or stop this?
What do you all think about this?

I don't see the big deal whatsoever.
More pressing problems,in the world than this.
There are probably a lot of commercials that have used musical theater songs over the years. I actually think it's clever because in that 30 second or however long the commercial is, it did grab my attention.

Thanks for stovetop tonight
equally revolting
I needed something to stop the bush turkeys from eating seed I put out for my friendly visiting parrots--I now have the answer=play Stovetop on a loop-Turkey stuffing--get it?
It is 5.17am Aussie time after all.

I've heard some pretty outrageous "bastardizations" over the years. Can't think of any at the moment however.

A Nike ad featuring tennis star Maria Sharapova with the tune "I feel pretty" from WSS
That cheese commercial is the most gloriously cheesey thing I have ever witnessed... I am awestruck.
