For our American friends who want to know about the show, here are some clips shot during its out of town try out at the Manchester Opera House.
They use Unchained Melody a lot in the trailer but the song is hardly in the show.
Great new show, few problems that need looking at but still very good

Is there any talk of it coming to the U.S.?
Not yet, its still doing its Out of Town and heading to the West End straight after, i would have thought it would head over if it does well, and its a pretty good show,
I'm praying it comes over to the US. It has some flaws but with the previews and out of town try outs those will be fixed. And I would die if Caissie Levy comes back over with the show! I am so pleased to see her originating a part. Her voice is just so unique and beautiful, and her acting is top notch!

How often do West End shows--or have they--do out of towns? I know many shows in London (or not) transfer to the West End but that's not quite the same thing.
Anyway, I def think it has potential. Like I said in the WE forum thread, I think the music I've heard (basically two songs) are great pop tunes, but suffer from overly vague lyrics (like many pop musicals do). But I give it props for, while playing it safe with a beloved movie, still seeming to want to be more than, say, Dirty Dancing the Musical or whatever.
It's nice to actually see show clips--it's one of the first shows I've seen that uses full on LED screens the way most modern pop concerts now do, and not just projections. I suspect it looks much better in person, although it does feel a bit drab and minimalist.

Love Levy's voice. Is "Unchained Melody" actually used in the show or is it just on the trailer?

By the way songanddanceman, I enjoyed reading your thoughts on the show over on the West End board.
uncageg - Thanks very much, im going back to see it in a few weeks to see if any changes have been made.
As for how often do UK shows do Out of Town tryouts- hardly ever. It used to be very common here in the 40s/50s. 60s but then just stopped. More and more shows just open cold in London (i think it explains a lot of why these same shows close very quickly)
Some shows have tried out though outside London, Mary Poppins and Imagine This both opened out of town (one went on to do well, the other....not so much lol)
We have a lot of UK tours as well that play the country before going to London. Many of them have 'Prior to the West End' written on the poster, only a small amount actually make it in to London. The original UK tour of Jeckyll and Hyde, Witches of Eastwick (recent revival), The Wedding Singer etc were all expected to make it to the West End and never did.
However other shows like Footloose (after its 2nd National Tour), Flashdance, Shout! etc did make it in.
As for the set, its very much using video walls but its used very very well (and very clever). Each wall moves to create rooms and locations and the videos them self are very clever and add to the show.
