I believe Gideon's last day is August 25.
If you search Blake's name on youtube, there are some clips of him singing "Don't Do Sadness". He sounds very good, in my opinion.
Are you kidding? Dammit, that's bumming... I was hoping to see SPRING AWAKENING next week, with as much of the Original Cast intact...
I guess that's what happens when actors get other shows, huh?
Gideon Glick (Spring Awakening) and Susan Blackwell ([title of show]) will star in Speech & Debate, directed by Jason Moore as the Roundabout inaugural production of the company's new black box space. Speech & Debate will begin at the new 65-seat black box theatre space in the Harold and Miriam Steinberg Center for Theatre on October 5th, with opening night on October 29th.
Gideon will be doing an off-Broadway play called Speech and Debate.
I'll be at his last show. He will be missed.
Gideon Glick is someone's name? Well, at least his parents must have had a sense of humour.

Blake is a somewhat different type than Gideon, but he's a great performer. Should be great.

He has the voice of an Angel--Will be very much missed. Until I see Blake and JBW together, i will not comment. But to say, the chemistry between Gideon and JBW will be hard to duplicate. I spoke to JBW about it recently and he said he will REALLY miss gideon, but they are all very proud of him. This is not farewell Gid, be seeing at "Speech & Debate"!
I agree with silversurfer, I wanna see the chemistry difference too.

Chemistry is so important between these 2 actors. And in this show in gerneral. Gideon & JBW had something rare, they clicked. I saw Gerard as Hanschen, and it just didn't work. I do think however it would be just as hard to replace JBW, you need someone with the Blond Preditor thing going on...Gerard was sorely lacking. I saw Phoebe as Wendla, she was excellent, but her seens w/ JGROFF were just not exciting together.
Word of Your Body reprise just came on my player and it made me rather sad to think that Gideon was leaving... They did have a rare chemistry that worked so well with the given scene. He'll be hard to replace.
You guys that are going to his final performance will have to give the rest of us details! It will be a nice break from my torts case studies....
I take it that he's not coming back after Speech & Debate? I have tix to SA on December 22...

Anyone been yet? I know its early but I'm kinda curious on how Blake is. I haven't seen Glick live, but what I've heard and seen, he sounds awesome. Lets hope his replacement is just as good.
Blake starts tomorrow.
Gideon's last was incredibly sad and emotional. Johnny was ON. He moved me to tears.
Gideon will be greatly missed and Blake has some huge shoes to fill.

blake is wonderful. he is going to be great.
I think Jonathan B. Wright will be even more difficult to replace. The role needs to be played by a light haired, innocent looking (on the surface) blond actor. This exterior makes the humor in his lines work so well and really catch the audience off-guard.

Oh sorry. I guess I mis-read some of the dates. If anyone sees him, please give us details. It'll be greatly appreciated. And I'll give you a unicorn. :)

Blake's first show was August 27th. He's not only a great actor, but he is a great guy. I have no doubt in my mind that he will do well.
