I know i know, another Wicked thread...im sorry...but this is broadway world and Wicked is a broadway show....a thought just popped into my mind. I was thinking....I know Megan is already set to take over the role of Glinda, but could anyone else see Kerry Butler as the role...Im not saying I am for this or against this...it was just a thought. Im not sure why...maybe cuz she's blonde? maybe thats the reason it popped into my head? Idk lol. What do you guys think. I mean, she has played very funny parts...
I could SEE it, but I don't think Kerry's range goes that high. Well, she might be able to BELT the high notes, but I don't know about hitting them in head voice.
If she could, she would definitely be cute as Glinda.
Christine, they're referring to Megan Hilty (the current stand-by). She'll most likely be taking over in April (April 19th) when JLT's contract expires.
I heard they wanted to try and keep JLT until for a few extra weeks and have her leave the same time as Carole and George, which would make more sense.
Jennifer Hope Wills would be the best choice for the next Glinda. Much better than choice than Megan. She has an incredible coloratura, great comedic skills, and she has a youthful Glinda look.
God, I wish they would get her for Glinda. She has more experience than Megan.

I agree ljay889.
A little swash, a bit of buckle - you'll love it more than bread.
I think Kerry could do it. Like everyone said, I'm not sure about the high notes, but who knows? I think she might could pull it off. I'd love to see her in it.
I am Kerry's #1 fan, but I'm not sure. I know that she is easily capable of singing that score, but I don't know if her voice is FIERCE enough. Kerry has a bit of a more whiny tone to her voice and I don't know if it would suit Elphaba right.
But I would love to hear her rendition of those songs!
perhaps they can get laura bell bundy back and have a little hairspray reunion.
"Grease," the fourth revival of the season, is the worst show in the history of theater and represents an unparalleled assault on Western civilization and its values. - Michael Reidel
