According to Nick Blaemire's Facebook page (Legit news, right?), there is a Japanese production of Glory Days happening. That's so weird. The show just seemed so very American to me.

It did and it flopped on Broadway what will make it better in Japan.
Desperately Seeking Susan the musical from here in the UK which closed after 2 weeks is also going to Japan.
Even though the show lost almost 4 million pounds (just over 7 million dollars) the shows Japan budget is even bigger lol
Japan has a love of the western musical so it doesn't surprise me that much. I mean I guess that there are better musicals that they can produce there other then Glory Days.

You never know what will be a hit in Japan. Very few initially guessed that Fiddler would connect so well to a Japanese audience, but it has done amazingly well over there, as the Japanese looked past the fact that the characters were Jewish and identified with a man trying desperately to hold on to his tradition and culture in a world that was rapidly moving past him.
What a waste of life, talent, money, and time.

A Chorus Line and Cats are also huge hits, and if I'm not mistaken, both had theatres built for those shows.

The similar reason didn't stop Billy Elliot, Les Miserables, Miss Saigon, or other shows from coming to Broadway.
Plus, Grey Gardens is scheduled for a run in November, I believe

I brought my GLORY DAYS window card for Alex Brightman to sign tonight, and he also mentioned to me that it was going to Japan. I hope it has a healthy run there...

What show is Alex Brightman in?
And yeah, I wish it was recorded as well. It had some decent melodies. And according to the writers, it is getting a recording, but who knows when, or at least it was planned.
