Other than anouncing Gavin Creel as Jesus, has any other casting been announced?
I've searched and searched, but can't find and news.
Thanks!

Joshua Henry (IN THE HEIGHTS) as Judas.
Daniel Torres (PIRATE QUEEN) as Jesus Understudy and "We Beseech Thee" soloist.
Sarah Chase is in it, as well.
Shoshona Bean and Celia Keenan-Bolger were offered but will not be in it.
Robin De Jesus will not be returning. He will stay with IN THE HEIGHTS.

not surprised.
they should be announcing a theatre very soon. Previews are set to begin July 15th -- that might change.
re: Godspell 2008#7
Posted: 5/23/08 at 2:57pmI hope they do start previews in July, that way it will be open when I come to the city in August! Looking forward to hearing more casting.

Godspell? Gavin Creel? Yeah!!!
Been waiting for this show, and Creel would be, like, my best choice for Jesus!
broadwayfan7...are you in NYC in August for "A Tale of Two Cities" as well? I'm planning to get in a preview show, then.
Hopefully, providing I can get away, again, I would like to see it after the "official" opening.
Unfortunate for my wallet, I now have a "3-show" list to see: South Pacific, Tale, and Godspell!!! =[

Posted: 5/24/08 at 9:22amSomething tells me this may not be happening, at least not as soon as July. It's a little late to have not announced a theater or most of the casting.

Posted: 5/24/08 at 3:16pmI just can't imagine people paying $100 to see Godspell. Then again, it's probably just me. This show is completely lost on me.

Posted: 5/24/08 at 8:59pmI remember working at the Ambassador at the original Godspell, sometime in the 70's and it was hugely entertaining...also, during intermission the audience was ushered ONSTAGE house right, handed a cup of wine, exiting back into the orch., house left. Haven't seen a production of it since..is it still done this way? I lOVE "Day by Day".

Posted: 5/24/08 at 9:02pmEeek. I heard the new 'Age of Aquarius' on Sirius 77 a couple of weeks ago. It was... disturbing to say the least. I didn't know that they remixed songs when they revived shows!

krispy kreme...thanks a lot, for that insight on the show.
I've never seen it, and since I like Creel, this would be as good a time as any to catch it. Provided they get to open by the time I'm there in August...(?)
broadwayfan7...too bad, because from what I've seen and heard, it's a "must see" show (TOTC). Then again, not everyone likes Dickens, or period pieces;I happen to like BOTH :)
BTW, if you hear the amazing music from Jill Santoriello, you might change your mind!
