Would love to hear, as well. I was at the matinee, but already had Priscilla for the evening, so curious what all went down at the final show.

Now t/d/b/a haterobics on here.

Considering the show had few fans here, I wouldn't imagine too many posters were there.

I was there. Everyone gave stellar performaces. 'We Beseech Thee" Literally stopped the show! Corbin was brilliant.

After the show the director spoke, Hunter Parrish came on stage, as well as Stephen Schwartz. The show was a sellout; even had standees.

Hunter Parrish made a cameo appearence in the matinee yesterday - he brought out the pluger to Judas for All For The Best. The crowd went wild, and the cast was totally surprised!

I didnt go to the final performance but I did catch it last week and IMO it wasnt even half as bad as some of you on here were making it out to be which is one of the reasons I dont ever let opinions on this board ever sway me from going to see a show.

Corbin and the rest of the cast were really wonderful and me and my friends had a great time.

The entire week was pretty much sold out. It's sad that it wasn't like that from the beginning.

I was in attendance last night to the final show and I am still processing it today. It was one hell of a rollercoaster. I am in the minority on this board but I absolutely loved this production. It was so beautiful and inventive. There has not been many shows in the Circle in the Square that has taken advantage of the space and Daniel Goldstein and the designers did one hell of a job creating it.

The audience was living last night. When Uzo entered she got a huge round of applause, probably for a good minute. It just seemed like it was going on forever, and rightfully so. This cast is full of so much talent and Michael Holland really did a lovely job arranging the score to fit everyone's voice and make it sound wonderful.

Everyone got huge appplause and screams after their individual songs. "We Beseech Thee" got a standing ovation. The love inside of the theater on stage and off was beautiful and I am glad that it went out this way. Although it was really sad to see the show go, I can't wait to see what the cast will do next. They all will have no problem getting a new show.

Daniel Goldstein gave a beautiful speech making sure to thank everyone possible. It was beautiful to see how grateful he was for this show to come to life.

I was also at the show last night and it really was something special. I will never forget it. I think my favorite moment of the night was during the standing ovation after we beseech thee. Seeing all of their faces as the crowd cheered for agee. especially Nick. There was a moment just before stage managment forced the show to continue via the lighting cue that he happened to be looking in my direction and his face looked like he was saying wowi can't believe this and taking one last moment to take it all in.

Corbin had the final pictionary drawing be a eart that said It's been real inside it

During the parable before LotW when Morgan was doing the whistle while you work voice for George she added "I can't believe this is the end" (or something like that)

It was the perfect send off to an amazingly incredible show and I am the better for having experienced it

Well.. I had a good time when I saw it.. but it wasn't very good. This is broadway. Not the community theater of Great Neck, Long Island. This didn't come close to what should be the highest standard.

Give it a rest, Dame. The show is closed. No need to hi-jack a thread about the last performance to give us all a lecture on the high-browness of Broadway.

We get it. You did not like it (although you had a good time).

I think DAME was just saying that it's not a bad show. Someone accused posters of always calling it a terrible show, but I think the overall opinion of the majority of posters on here has been that it was a good show and it was enjoyable, but they wouldn't pay Broadway prices for it.

That's the way I felt. I 'enjoyed' it, but there was something missing.

A heck of a lot of talent on that stage, no doubt. Fabu voices, and people I'd like to continue to see get work.

But the production itself? Meh. (And I'm a HUGE Godspell-loving gal.)

and Carlos: there are enough folks on this board to find people that hate every show. And we talk more about that which we are passionate: good and bad. I know I'm not likely to chime in too often with "mediocre".

labwyfan; I paid my money. I saw the show. I think I am going to talk about it one way or the other.. if I want, when I want.. and as much as I want.

I hope if anything this last production reinvigorates new interest in school and college productions. Most of the ones I have seen have had more heart and vibrancy than this broadway incarnation.

I was at almost every performance last week--including the final one last night. No, it wasn't a Broadway performance--it was more of a religious experience for many of us: a joyful celebration of the Gospel.

I still can't put all my feeling about the final performance into words, but the fact that Hunter Parrish flew in from LA to be with the cast on its final weekend tells you more than words can express. This was a cast who rehearsed in a different manner and who bonded in a very special way.

The message of this GODSPELL will remain with me forever: We must all be part of building a beautiful city--not a city of angels, but a city of men.

Long Live God!

I believe the National Tour is no longer happening. It's no longer listed on The Booking Groups website.

I don't think it's true that the show didn't have many fans on here, just that its fans didn't engage in the conversations of how bad some people thought it was... leading to a perception that it was only hated, which was probably not entirely true.

"The entire week was pretty much sold out."

While their numbers went up, for the last week, it was hardly close to being sold out.

At yesterday's matinee, Hunter Parrish made a cameo bringing Judas the plunger in "All For The Best."

Godspell was a wonderful, magical experience from start to finish for everyone involved!!!! I wish the extremely talented cast the best of luck.

And I think all labwyfan was trying to say to DAME is that this thread was supposed to be about Godspell's final performance and not about the issue of it living up to Broadway standards, which has been discussed ad nauseum in myriad other posts and threads. Sometimes that can get a bit old. But this is a message board just like any other message board on the internet and people can and will say just about whatever they want wherever they want so I always find that Block and Ignore options are a poster's best friends.

Oh puhlease. This thing of telling people what they can or can't say on threads is so obnoxious. It closed. People are going to talk about what they liked, why they hated it, why they went, why they avoided it like the plague; on this , and any other thread on the show. You make the thread into something else by your bitching. I saw it. I thought it was mediocre. I enjoyed the talent. I thought it ran 90 % longer than it should have... and I wish all involved the best.
