Avoid TARZAN like the plague. Waste of time and money.

My choices would be:

A CHORUS LINE
THE DROWSY CHAPERONE
THE PHANTOM OF THE OPERA

THE WEDDING SINGER
As much as I like "A CHORUS LINE" if anyone recommends it, they are recommending a show they haven't seen, unless that person is from the SF area. Since this version hasn't opened in NYC yet. So try seeing a show before recommending it, thanks.

I didn't recommend it. Can you read? I said that's what I would choose.

I would say Sweeney if it wasn't closing, but since it is.. out of your choices I would say Drowsy :)

I'd definitely say:

Phantom (if you haven't seen it, it's a MUST)
Color Purple

To my surprise I'm finding myself liking the Tarzan music -- not sure about the show, but I like the music. Drowsy doesn't 'call to me' and neither does "Wedding Singer".

Good luck & keep us posted on what you decide to see.

I agree with Sweet Q
"People that excel in the arts understand that the journey is the reward...the result an added bonus. Every day I act or train is a blessing and a dream come true. If Broadway beckons so be it. I have a personal definition of success that is unshakable by a possibly unobtainable goal." -HamletWasBipolar

Phantom (Longest running show in Broadway history!!)
A Chorus Line (Hopefully, a great revival)
Drowsy Chaperone (Soooooo funny!!)

See Drowsy or if you can get tickets to The Color Purple, try to see that. A Chorus Line would also be fun to see even if it is in previews.

Sutton Foster will be off from Drowsy for 2 weeks, I think it's Sep 18 to Oct 1, but if this is your only chance to see this show, it's still well worth it. Bob Martin has a great story to tell, and any musical theatre fan can identify with it.

My other picks would be The Producers and A Chorus Line.

Toughie. I'd pick:

Chorus Line (Haven't seen it yet, although I have tickets. The music is incredible and the plot seems great. One of those shows you know is gonna be amazing)
Phantom (It was really well done, and I agree with Born2cthelightsofbway)
Drowsy (Great, great fun, and extremely funny. I'm seeing it again with my friends for my b-day)

Well, whatever you pick, enjoy!
