Who's your favorite grand old dame still on the boards, kicking and singing?

Angela Lansbury.
Tonya Pinkins: Then we had a "Lot's Wife" last June that was my personal favorite. I'm still trying to get them to let me sing it at some performance where we get to sing an excerpt that's gone.
Tony Kushner: You can sing it at my funeral.

I love all of the one already named and would willingly take a bullet for any of them, but...

Polly Bergen, Marge Champion and the all ladies who recently did 70 Girls 70 are also fine Bway Golden Girls.

She is almost 60...so I am going with Bernadette Peters

re: Golden Girls of B'way

I don't care what Bernadette's age is--there's no way she could possibly be described as a "grand old dame." Maybe in 30 or 40 years.:)

re: Golden Girls of B'way

Bernadette may be a great "Dame", but "Golden", I think not. Have you seen her recently--I have--she has the sparkle and the strut back! And she positively crackles with that sweet sex appeal...

My point is: this has NOTHING AT ALL to do with chronological age. And any Fanadette knows this.

re: Golden Girls of B'way

It's funny that out of the four Golden Girls, Betty White was the only one never to appear on Broadway. Bea did nine Broadway shows(according to ibdb.com). Rue was last seen in Wicked & The Women plus did four others before Golden Girls. Estelle Getty was in the original cast of Torch Song Trilogy and did a ton of off-Broadway shows as well.

Interesting to all those Golden Girls fans.
A Chorus Line revival played its final Broadway performance on August 17, 2008. The tour played its final performance on August 21, 2011. A new non-equity tour started in October 2012 played its final performance on March 23, 2013. Another non-equity tour launched on January 20, 2018. The tour ended its US run in Kansas City and then toured throughout Japan August & September 2018.
