I saw this show twice this year and I loved it. Never saw it with Micheal but I saw both of his understudies and thought they were amazing. My favorite of the two who I saw was Harry Haid his "Shameless" was incredible.
Is any one going becasue I would love to see the reviwes. I can bet that "I Loved These Days" is going to be very emoitonal

I loved Big Man on Mulberry and River of Dreams that leads into the amazing end of the show.

Well Movin' Out has just performed it's last show. 
I really hope someone here went because it must have been a wonderful show.

I was at the final show of Movin Out. All I can say is wow! I don't think it has really hit me yet that this show is really gone. The energy in the audience was electric from the start and continued throughout the whole show. The cast was at their best and put so much energy and emotion into everything they did this afternoon. Billy Joel was there and got applause before the show and at intermission. He also sang 2 songs after curtain call. There was no curtain call speech but the cast go to sit on the stage and hang out while billy sang, which was nice. It was very emotional. Keith Roberts was fighting back tears for most of the show, as were many in the cast, and Michael Cavenaugh got choked up during the final song and had trouble getting out some of the notes. I would write more now, but I am still kind of in shock.....

I don't know about Elton, but I saw Joel Grey and Todd Graff (director of Camp) because they were sitting near me. I heard Bernadette Peters was there was well.

I did not see Twyla (I figure maybe she is working on the bob dylan project.) I thought if she was there that she would've gone up onstage at the end though with Billy.
Elizabeth started to cry a little when she would look at Keith because he was constantly holding back tears (it started during she's got a way and continued throughout the rest of the show. everytime you saw him he looked like he was going to burst int otears. It was so sweet.. During Shameless they were both crying. Ashley was crying at the end during I love these days, but I don't think I saw John cry at all.

Billy sang "The Night the Lights Went Out On Broadway" (which had everyone in tears). It looked like they had rehearsed that one and then just decided to do the next song when the crowd went nuts (although they probably rehearsed both, I would guess). The second song was the one that goes "you may be right. I may be crazy, but it just may be a lunatic you're looking for"... I can't remember the exact title.. sorry... still a little overwhelmed by the entire afternoon...

I don't think I have been this upset about a show since Christopher Fitzgerald left Wicked. I need a hug now!

I saw Movin' Out in New York two years ago and it was just amazing. I had no idea it was closing. I would kill to be in that someday... the choreography is just incredible.

Amazing. Nothing has ever made me appreciate dance so much (and wish I was a better dancer!).

today was the final performance...its very sad..great show..you can see the tour though..

I get choked up listening to I've Loved These Days on the CD and when I saw the tour twice, Cant imagine the emotion the cast had today after so many shows.
Any word on what Elizabeth is going to do?

speaking of I'VE LOVED THESE DAYS... One of my favorite moments of the night which I forgot to mention before. After being choked up while singing I'VE LOVED THESE DAYS Michael got to the end and changed the words to "a few more times that I can say WE'VE LOVED THESE DAYS!" which got huge applause from the audience...
I have not heard what any of them are doing after movin out... anyone know?

I know back in Feb. John did a workshop of Twyla's new bob dylan show.....so hopefully he'll be in that. A Chorus Line is comming back soon....so maybe a lot of them will do that. I know Rika Okamoto is in Tarzan....

I was there for the final show, and what an incredibly moving and passionate performance from everyone involved. "Goodnight Saigon" is always poignant, but tonight, it was extremely powerful.
The performance today, showed above all else, how well that cast worked together and their commitment to that show over its entire run (even if injuries or other temporary projects got in the way). Never have I seen a cast that genuinely physically and emotionally committed to a show after doing it for so long, if you include workshops and out of town tryouts. Today you could tell they absolutely loved every minute of it, and that type of energy was contagious with the audience. From the first chord of "It's Still Rock and Roll" the crowd went nuts. I remember seeing Keith Roberts, Elizabeth Parkinson, Ashley Tuttle, and Michael Cavanaugh choked up during the performance.
The cast's reaction to Billy getting up on stage to play 2 final songs was fun and bittersweet, they all sat down on the stage and watched. Many had their own personal cameras taking pictures themselves.

Can the Broadway cast hook on with the National tour or is that basically a seperate entity? Obviously the tour cast has been there for a long time. Just curious.

I was also at the final performance, and as noted above it was really wonderful in every way. The dancers were phenomenal and their emotion and Michael's was palpable, making the show its most moving. The audience was as responsive as could be.
When Billy Joel first sang the cast sat on stage, but it wasn't long before some were dancing again, and they did some great - and funny - moves. Keith Roberts particularly took advantage of the chance to dance to a couple more Billy Joel tunes, performed by the man himself.
I can't wait to see what these dancers do next.

I was at the final performance, too. (Btw, Bernadette Peters was sitting next to Joel Grey.)
It was a spectacular show today (though it was also pretty spectacular when I saw it two weeks ago...). I loved the reactions from the audience, all the entrance applause, and applause and cheering during the numbers...I think Big Man on Mulberry Street got the loudest and longest ovation. (As well it should!)
I think some of the Broadway cast might do some stops on the national tour, because some of the tour cast members are going to London.
(And I think the "woah..." song from the commercial someone was referring to earlier is actually Uptown Girl.)
