Posted: 9/11/12 at 10:59pmDoes anyone have a play or scene from a show that comes to mind for you, something under 5 minutes... Between two men. Can be dramatic, funny. Just needs to be contemporary. Would love some suggestions or places to look!

Posted: 9/11/12 at 11:14pmHow contemporary? It's pretty easy to take an excerpt from one of the longer scenes of some of American classics--ie Brick and Big Daddy have a lot you can excerpt and still make sense of in Cat on a Hot Tin Roof, or taking five minutes from Albee's The Zoo Story, or something from Rosencrantz and Guildenstern Are Dead, to use three fairly obvious examples.

THE MOTHERF*CKER WITH THE HAT. Plenty of scenes between two men.
You're welcome.

Ha, now that's all I can think of...
The OP never mentioned what the age range should be--surely that would narrow it down?

I definitely second the MOTHERF*CKER WITH THE HAT recommendation. That play is awesome. One of my favorites of the last few years, and lots of scenes between men.
Otherwise - it really depends on the age of the actors.
Lots of scenes in:
- OLD WICKED SONGS
- ANGELS IN AMERICA
- THE GOAT OR WHO IS SYLVIA (opening scene with the lead and the friend --- forget the character's names)
- SONS OF THE PROPHET has a couple really great scenes with the lead and the guy he meets in the bus station...
- THE ZOO STORY
- BOEING BOEING (some great two-guy scenes)
- RED (any of it)
I could keep going...
