i was at the last show last night, sad to see it go. everyone seemed to be in semi-good spirits at the stage door. everyone in the cast is really talented, so im sure well be seeing them soon in other shows.
for those who couldnt get posters or t shirts at the show, broadwaynewyork.com has them all in stock.
I was at the closing show -- liotte, Bob Martin was directly across the aisle from me as well (I was about five seats in). That's so funny. =)
Tom Kitt and Amanda Green were also in attendance.
I love this show. The cast was fabulous, and everyone was so sweet and gracious at the door. It's a shame to see it go, especially considering shows like The Times got to stay longer.
I'm not surprised there were no speeches, because it's hard to sound to give a goodbye speech when you've obviously gotten such a raw deal. I think that the closing was handled as best it could.
Also? I totally LOVED that all the swings were in the finale last night. Such a sweet idea. Will said that was his favourite part of the show.

Did Bob Martin seem to be enjoying the show? :)
I wasn't able to see the final show, but I wanted to share one thing - after Friday's show, I told Jenn Colella that I, for one, loved the show and saw it three times. She looked me directly in the eye and said "thank you - really, it means a lot to me." Just that moment meant so much to me.

"That's shocking! THAT IS SHOCKING!"
Bye bye, HiFi.
Ok, I totally glanced across the aisle at one point during the show, to see if Bob Martin looked like he was enjoying it (because yes, I am a huge geek like that), and I swear it was just like watching Man in Chair- he was totally leaning forward with a smile on his face.
And I have to say- I don't know if it was because the crowd was so into it because it was the last show, or because I was sitting in a packed orch section, or what, but I completely enjoyed the show much more last night than I did when I saw it for the first time a week ago. There was such a great energy on stage, and while I still didn't think the 'redemption' of Rob is handled all that well I really enjoyed myself last night, to the dancing in my chair, humming songs as I was leaving the venue, point of things. I wasn't a fan after I saw it the first time, and I went for the second time last night because they were comps, (and because I'd never been to a closing of a show before), and I found myself totally changing and thinking I actually would have loved to see that for a third time.

lightguy, you did not sit anywhere near JLY at the High Fidelity opening, he was doing his show that night.
I was at Jersey Boys on the opening night of High Fidelity...he was in his own show. He went to the party, afterwards, I assume that was how he was in the opening night photos, but he was Frankie that evening...
