The last two performances are today. It did not deserve SUCH an early closing. Good luck to all the cast and crew who did an amazing job and who worked extremely hard. Share your High Fidelity thoughts here! I really liked the show and wish it had more of a chance.
...What happened next, was stranger still, a woman breathless and afraid, appeared out of the night, completely dressed in white. She had a secret she would tell, of one who had mistreated her. Her face and frightened gaze, my mind cannot erase...But then she ran from view. She looked so much like you...
Okay I know I am out of the loop but why exactly is it closing so fast...and they are doing a cast recording I remember reading on here..correct me if I am wrong thanks

I saw the show for the last time last night. Honestly, it was a hell of a lot better than when I saw it in previews (maybe I just needed a second viewing). I loved the score and am absolutely thrilled that it is being recorded. Jenn Colella, once again, was the highlight for me. She has an incredible voice and I felt she was underused in this show. I hope she gets work again very soon. Will Chase, who I thought couldn't carry the show after I saw the second preview, was excellent last night. He was in full voice and his acting was great...he definitely has much more stage presence than on November 22nd, when I first saw the show. The rest of the cast was good too, with special mention to Rachel Stern, who was hilarious.
IMO, this show does not deserve to be a 14-performance flop. It was much better than Good Vibrations, Lennon, Hot Feet, In My Life, The Times They Are A-Changin', and many other flops that lasted more performances than High Fidelity. As others have mentioned though, the actual number of performances does not necessarily reflect on the quality of the show...High Fidelity was a victim of bad marketing, poor timing and bad direction.
I am sad to see this show go and I hope the cast finds work again very soon.
Sad that it's closing so soon. Best of luck to all the cast and crew in the future! Does anyone know if there is a way to buy merchandise online?

Oh I would love a poster! Gotta figure out how to get one.

I didn't buy anything, but there was a lot of nice merch.

I saw the show last night and I loved it. I completely agree with WAT, Jenn was underused. That was my only complaint with the show. I regret not seeing it earlier because I would've loved to see it again. I had such a great time. Can't wait for the cast recording!
BTW WAT, saw you at the stagedoor! I was going to say hello but the crowd was much larger than I expected.

I saw High Fidelity for the second time last night. Once again, I really enjoyed it. Will Chase really connected with the audiance and did an awesome job. Jen Colella was amazing and blew me away, especially in her spotlight song that gets her placed on the "top 5 break up list." I would know the exact title if a song list was printed in the Playbill, and why wasn't it. The entire supporting ensemble also did an incredible job, especially Rachel Stern and Christian Anderson. I truly am looking forward to having the opportunity to purchase a cast recording. I wish the entire cast and crew success and I look forward to seeing them in future projects.
Why would they tour it? What Promoter in his right mind would book this show? How could they possibly sell it to their season subscribers? There aren't even any good quotes to use from the reviews!
Other than that, did you enjoy the play Mrs Lincoln?
i live near boston and isaw it in previews ill be honest when i saw it i was like okay thats not gonna last TOO long on broadway however i never thought it would be so short. the reviews in boston were right on and im sure they listened and fixed up the show a bit. i beleive people reviewing it in NY read the boston ones and jumped to the conclusons that it wouldnt change which is really sad dont get me worng, high fidelity was an awesome show and i lovedddd it!! its so sdad to see it go
They knew there was no way they would make their money back, so why not return at least a little bit of it to their investors. I did not enjoy it, but I'm glad that others did. I'm saddened for this very talented cast (the guy who played Dick was my favorite). It must be hard to be out of a job just before the holidays. Wishing them many glorious gigs in the near future!
Saw the final matinee today, I thought the show was very good and Will Chase gave a great performance! The show had a lot of energy (especially the Act I opener and closer). I do agree with some critics that the music was a little mediocre, but I do think the performances overshadowed the music today. Rachel Stern was a riot! It was hard to see people around me quietly sitting while the cast tried so urgently at the end to rise people from their seats and clap their hands. At the end, I gave a cast a well-deserved standing ovation, it is a real shame this show had to close after only 14 performances, it had much more potential than shows like Lestat. Can't wait for the CD!
I really liked a lot of the music in this show, so I'm very happy there's going to be a cast recording. It's not fair it only lasted a handful of performances. Like someone else mentioned, it was better than most of the other recent flops.
pharmer2000, Jenn's song is called "Number Five With a Bullet". I really liked that song too.
A little swash, a bit of buckle - you'll love it more than bread.
