According to Chris Jones, Chicago Tribune critic, the Goodman Theatre's revival of The Iceman Cometh mounted last season in Chicago is likely to be remounted in New York next season. No word on casting at this time. See article below (concerning Kate Arrington currently in Belleville at Steppenwolf and who was in last seasons Iceman):

Note: Her partner in life - Michael Shannon (currently playing General Zod in Man of Steel) is also on the boards in Chicago playing in a sold out run of Simpatico by Sam Shepard.

Perhaps I misremember, but didn't Chris Jones previously report that it was absolutely not even a little possible that it would maybe potentially ever transfer to Broadway?
The last rumor I heard on this was that it was going to BAM in late winter-spring 2014.
Note: In his article, Jones says it "appears likely to be restaged in New York next year" so BAM may be the location and not Broadway. My correction.
Oh look, now it's a BWW headline.
Yeah, I'm betting it's at BAM. It wasn't picked up for a Broadway production because with its four hour running time it would be unlikely to make a profit (not that that has stopped producers of most other Broadway shows).
On a related note, I've seen (or rather tried to get through most of) both the Jason Robards and Lee Marvin film versions, and I find the play overly long, meandering, and boring. It's also written in that uncomfortable sort of poetic realism (from back when realism was still a relatively new theatrical concept that was still being tried on for size) that I find really grating.

could they maybe have found producers willing to do a 6 show week (like the recent production of Macbeth?)

Are there any updates on the revised production of BRIGADOON that the Goodman was supposedly mounting?
