Got my tickets for Nathan and Matthew in The Producers

A friend called me this afternoon to say he had given me an 'early Xmas present' - February 11, to be exact.

A matinee.

So I'll see either Nathan OR Brad. :)

You laugh BwayTheatre11....but unfortunately that's probably the only way you could get tickets before they go on sale. ESPECIALLY with this show.
Saying that though, I'm not big on using "connections". I just see it as kind of unfair. My family has practically tells me every second that this is "the way the real world works". I don't know, but I guess that's right? Is it all about who you know?
I know I'm getting off track with the whole topic of "connections" but for those of you who have "connections", do you use them? Anf how do you feel about "connections"
I must admit I'm kind of a hypocrite here and I'd be lying if I said I never used "connections". A few years ago there was a concert in Central Park which was one of those concerts when you had to go to certain places in the city and it was basically a raffle for all the tickets for the show. I lived in PA in school at the time and I called my mom to see if she would go to try to win tickets for me or let me drive up to try to win and got an astounding "NO" to both. But two days later I got a envelope from American Express (they sponsered the concert)with two VIP tickets for the concert. I found out later that my mother made a call to friend at Amex and somehow got them to send me the passes. It was at this concert that I got to meet one of my favorite singers, Sarah McLachlan.
So basically, I do feel bad about using "connections" and don't use them if at all possible. But the same cannot be said for the rest of my family. In fact, sometimes I feel kind of embarrassed about it.
Ok so back to my tangent question....if you have or had the the chance to use such "connections", so you/would you use them?

I guess I wasn't clear. I didn't mean to imply that Amex Gold card members had "connections", just that it was a way that people got tickets before public sale.

And then I answered the connections question :)

Congrats on getting Producers tickets. I'm not even going to try.

The show's expected to be sold out within two hours of tickets going on sale.

I'm jealous. very, very jealous.

actually newyorkuniq....they are not raising prices. and this was announced MONTHS ago. tickets will remain at $30-$100

Picture in NY Post today of people actually sleeping overnight on the sidewalk to get tickets. This is sick - To these people Get A Life. Your world will not end if you don't see it. How many of these people would volunteer their time in a soup kitchen or give to charity but they will undergo this inconvience & spend this money to see a Broadway show. Barnum was right - there is a sucker born every minute. Poetic justice would be for Lane to miss a performance or two & all these idiots who waited in line will have is their money back

Yeah thats pretty ridiculous. Especially since they are going to have rush and standing room tix if your that desperate.
