....according to the EPA notice, anyway. They've changed bits and pieces of the show (along with adding songs), but nothing too major. Read on.

Is it just possible that they want to have "replacements" available in case the reality show casting thing produces someone not up to 8 shows a week? Sounds like an insurance policy to me.

Well, they are required to have EPAs for every Broadway show. Most of the roles have already been cast.

If they want a Pat Boone type for "Teen Angel" they should just pull Austin Miller out of the competition for Danny...

Do you think they will put any of the people kicked off in the broadway show?

"Do you think they will put any of the people kicked off in the broadway show?"

I bet they will. In London when that girl won for The Sound of Music, the runner up got the part of Roxie in Chicago. So I'm pretty sure they'll do the same thing here. Pity.

I've always thought they should make the runners up the standbys, and then have them perform the matinees. That way it could be like a see the one you wanted to see but didn't win. I guess that's not fair though, but if these people end up unable to do 8 shows a week, maybe not a bad idea.

I notice that Rizzo is still being cast. I wonder if the rumors floating around that Jenny Powers has the offer are still valid.

"You travel alone because other people are only there to remind you how much that hook hurts that we all bit down on. Wait for that one day we can bite free and get back out there in space where we belong, sail back over water, over skies, into space, the hook finally out of our mouths and we wander back out there in space spawning to other planets never to return hurrah to earth and we'll look back and can't even see these lives here anymore. Only the taste of blood to remind us we ever existed. The earth is small. We're gone. We're dead. We're safe." -John Guare, Landscape of the Body

I KNEW Sandy was a soprano role and that I wasn't on crack! Why isn't the reality show emphasizing that more? ._.

Jimmy, what are you doing here in the middle of the night? It's almost 9 PM!

I thought they said on "Grease: You're the One that I Want" that Rizzo was already cast?

I think Bedazzler was asking about the performer not the character.

Sandy is NOT a soprano role. whether they're addings songs or not, i can tell you from experience that it is not. it is a alto/mezzo belt role. and the mezzo belt only comes in during the sandra dee reprise at the end and hopelessly devoted. the only thing that could possibly pass as soprano is If I Don't Have You from the '94 revival... which i haven't heard if they're adding yet.

when i was Sandy we did the OBC version where Sandy, still considered a lead, is onstage for maybe 30% of the show, has no solo (unless you count the 45 sec reprise) and requires little or no acting experience.

i hope they make this one good. or else they shoulda done the reality show to find danny and rizzo. cause it's really their show.

Yes, I was acting what actress was playing the role of Patty, not asking who the character was. As countrygurl587 mentioned that she knew who was. Was just curious...but she seemed to have edited both of her posts, I see.

Does this debunk the Jenny Powers rumors? https://www.broadwayworld.com/viewcolumn.cfm?colid=16347
It seems like it would conflict with Grease rehearsal...

This process began when i was in the national tour which is the sme version that will be on Bway--the same producers who did the tour are a part of the Bway revival too...so that's where I get this.

The original idea was to have Britney star--then they moved to Nick and Jessica starring...then they thought they'd do a show searching for Rizzo..then they settled on this.

Coma's right--Sandy, even in this version, is a small role. I don't know how high her notes are, but the arrangements we used were almost all new ones. I think only "Look At Me" and "Worse Things" were the only ones where he used the original arrangement. So it may be higher for this version.

Marshmallow - no, not at all. Grease doesn't start on Broadway until the end of July, and they're probably rehearsing in LA, since that's where the production (as of now, at least) seems to be based.

In response to who is playing Patty.....it's on Allison Fischer's message board that she will be playing the role of Patty. For those who don't know who she is, she was Claudia in Lestat

A lot of the parts are already cast. The first round of EPA's were back in September and now they are obligated to do another (6-month required) This isn't at all out of the ordinary.

Other than that, did you enjoy the play Mrs Lincoln?
