I will be coming to New York in two weeks and am taking my little sister to see cats and then I want to see falsettos as well before it closes and then I'm having a hard time deciding between comet and Evan Hansen. I really love the music for comet, however I wonder if Evan Hansen will become a hard ticket to come by come next award season. Any help will be appreciated :)

Its too early to figure that out for either of the shows.   Also, is your sister going to accompany you?  and if so, how old is she?

If we're not having fun, then why are we doing it? These are DISCUSSION boards, not mutual admiration boards. Discussion only occurs when we are willing to hear what others are thinking, regardless of whether it is alignment to our own thoughts.

I was asking myself this same question, they are the two hot new shows this fall after all. I ended up going with GREAT COMET because I know I like the music and am intrigued by the staging.

I haven't seen either one however.

I just saw Great Comet last night and saw DEH in DC (scheduled to see it again in the spring). With DEH, I came away knowing immediately that I loved it and wanted to see it again. DC sort of took me till intermission to decide if I liked it or not. It reminded me a lot of Moulin Rouge the movie. I decided that I liked it a lot and would see it again because I felt like it was such a visual spectacle.

As the others said, your sister's age and whether she'll be with you probably will impact your choice.

Btw, I'm seeing Falsettos tonight so I'll be thinking about which one out of the 3 I'd go for!
