What are some examples of shows that were well-liked when they debuted in New York, but then nearly faded out of existence (not often produced / seldom discussed)?

Some that come in mind for me:

MUSICALS
- THE SPITFIRE GRILL
- ADDING MACHINE

"The Spectacle has, indeed, an emotional attraction of its own, but, of all the parts, it is the least artistic, and connected least with the art of poetry. For the power of Tragedy, we may be sure, is felt even apart from representation and actors. Besides, the production of spectacular effects depends more on the art of the stage machinist than on that of the poet."

Oh, please. This has always been the case, and will always be. Roxy, you get more cranky with every post.

If we're not having fun, then why are we doing it? These are DISCUSSION boards, not mutual admiration boards. Discussion only occurs when we are willing to hear what others are thinking, regardless of whether it is alignment to our own thoughts.

I really enjoyed My Life With Albertine. And never heard of anyone doing it.

Ugh there are so many shows that just never get performed after the leave New York.
A few examples:

SEUSSICAL
LEGALLY BLONDE
13
AVENUE Q
INTO THE WOODS
ANNIE

and so many more. We need to stop forgetting about these little rare gems.
