I'm guessing we're going by the best written etc idea, not favorites.
I really enjoyed The Light in the Piazza. That is really good, but the best thing I've seen is Sweeney Todd, it is a true masterpiece. also, Sunday in the Park with George is great as well.
To Kill A Mockingbird

1st place: GYPSY
2nd place: Sweeney Todd (I haven't seen it live though so it might not count- I will be on October 3rd though!!)

Fiyero, I suggest if you're going to say things like that about Wicked, check your spelling. People on here can be ruthless.

Hairspray OBC
The Light in the Piazza (Seattle)
Man of La Mancha (Seattle)
Secret in the Wings (Seattle)

The greatest show I've seen on Broadway...probably the Light in the Piazza...props to CatsNY for saying Sweet Smell of Success...it had its issues, but I really enjoyed it anyway!
PS. As soon as I see Sweeney...my vote could change!

I've seen quite a few B-way shows, and for the most part I haven't been disappointed. The only show I was, (not the actors fault) was Brooklyn (sorry to those who liked it). Mamma Mia was good, better than I expected but compared to the others i've seen, it didn't stand a chance.
But i'd agree with Composer 9, Light in the Piazza is probably one of the greatest shows in terms of quality, music, acting, direction etc, i've seen. It should have blown Spamalot out of the water with Best Musical!
