A classic and one of the best "Audience" shows I've ever seen. I've never seen a production that didn't connect with the audience, even in a very shaky High School production.

The score is great! "Fugue for Tinhorns" is a great opening number and it's followed by one great song after another: Take Back your Mink, Adelaide's Lament, If I Were a Bell, Luck Be A Lady-- that would be a great show right there, but then you get one of the best "Eleven O'Clock Numbers" in the history of the theatre: "Sit Down You're Rocking The Boat," a number that is almost fool-proof.

If someone had to tell me what was the most flawless, complete musical comedies of all time I would have to answer Guys and Dolls. Other than a slightly dragged out Second Act...it is perfect. Great characters, great songs, great libretto. An all-time favourite.

JoeKv99 basically summed it up. G&D is a great show with really fun music. It's one of my favorite shows.

Miss Adelaide! What a great part-- If only I were 15 years younger, 150 pounds lighter, could sing, and a woman, I'd kill to do that part!

Adelaide is so much fun to play! Out of all the parts I've played, she's my favorite-- "Adelaide's Lament" and "Take Back Your Mink" are loads of fun to perform!

I hope your director chooses G&W!

'You're at it again you're running the game,
I'm not going to play second fiddle to that.'

If you are playing Adelaide, I guarantee you won't be second fiddle. She is a marvellous character in a marvellous show.

Miss Adelaide is the STAR of the show, despite the fact that Sky Masterson and Sarah Brown are technically the leads! If Adelaide is played right and has enough talent, she steals the show every time.

I did GUYS AND DOLLS over the summer. I fell in love with the musical. The book is great, the music is exceptional... the most perfect musical you'll come across.

I love this music! I just pulled the CD out again and appreciate it so much more than I did. I'm currently on a G&D kick. It's just fun, great, gorgeous music. Sarah Brown is the technical lead. I knew a girl who didn't get her and was so upset. (she didn't get adelaide either). But, being a character actress, Adelaide is just one of the greatest roles in musical theatre, imo! Sarah is a sweet role, too thoughm if you're a soprano.

My Fair Lady's a great show. I was in it this summer (Second Costermonger/Servant's Chorus) and I can honestly say that it was grat. The musical is near flawless and it is so much fun to perform. Ihope I have the opportunity to be in it again.

My Fair Lady is one of my all-time favorite, and absolutely not boring. And "perfectly structured" though it may be, I really don't like Guys and Dolls. I know this sounds hypocritical coming from a Sweeney Todd fan, but the values of the show really stink. "Marry the Man Today," anyone?

Guys and Dolls is the funnest show I have been in! It was also the favorite amongst family members who were forced to see it every weekend of its run.

yes, plum, the morals are off and I think the audience knows that. There are SO many shows where the girl changes, why not switch it up a little? I think it's just plain fun.

I was in Guys and Dolls my freshman year... I wanted Sarah at first, but then i knew i would've been more fit for Adelaide... i got a dancer and chorus and stuff. it was ok. the show is good though and the audience loves it.

sigh.. I USED to like Guys and Dolls.....but then I was in it. A word of advice: if anyone mentions to you the words "Mission Band" RUN. RUN FOR YOUR LIFE!!!! ARGHHHHH
But no, it's not a BAD show, it's just that 4 hour practices...6 days a week, for three months singing Fo-LLOW the FOLD and STRAY no MORE...STRAY no more STRAY no more....
it's good times. But I like my fair lady better. Better female lead. But that's just my opinion.
Good luck

Was that a fat joke?
