Hi, I was wondering if anyone could help me out. I searched and nothing came up, so forgive me if this has been discussed before. So, I understand that Gypsy is usually on TKTS, but what is the likelihood that it will be available on either a Saturday or Wednesday matinee? Does it usually sell out quickly? We don't have the date picked yet (which is why I don't know if it's a Saturday or a Wednesday) but we will most likely be arriving in the city at around 10:00-10:30. This is my first time ever using TKTS so I just like to know what I'm getting myself into.
Also, if Gypsy isn't available, what other shows are almost always available on TKTS? I was thinking about either Xanadu or In the Heights, or even Spring Awakening.

it is probable that gypsy would be on the tkts board then. both times also attract and older crowd-fyi. i went to see gypsy on a saturday (matinee) and the orchestra was packed. no seat empty.
and in the heights will definately NOT be on the boards. it is selling out now.

I don't think you'd have a problem getting tickets for a matinee, but with TKTS, you never really know. For matinee shows, I like to get my tickets the day before at the TKTS booth down by the Seaport. For Wednesday matinees, I think you can go down there anytime on Tuesday, and for Saturday matinees, anytime Friday. I would assume that you'd get better seats than the people waiting in line the next day at 11am at the 46th St. booth.
I've seen ITH on the TKTS boards once. Spring Awakening you should be able to get easily.

GYPSY is probably there but whether or not you're going to have good seats is a total crapshoot...
SPRING AWAKENING will be there and they will most likely have good seats available...
same with XANADU...
IN THE HEIGHTS will not be on the boards, although you could try the lottery (the theater is literally like twenty feet away from the TKTS booth..)
