Agree.
Well... there are excellent quality full show bootlegs of both Tyne Daly's and Bernadette Peters' productions of GYPSY, so in all fairness, anyone can obtain them on DVD with a little research.
The only productions which don't have full show bootleg DVDs accessible are the original 1959 Broadway production and the 1974 Broadway revival. All the others (including Betty Buckley's Papermill Playhouse production) survive in excellent quality bootleg DVDs.
There's a soundboard audio if Ethel's final performance as well as an audience bootleg audio of Angela.
... and both are fabulous.
There are NO words that can easily describe how great those 2 recordings are, especially hearing the ladies performing the entire show and not just the songs.
MB.. anything you might want to add now that the cat is officially out of the bag?
SQUEEEEE!!!!!!!!!!!!
YAY PATTI!!!!
This is very exciting, as I pretty much had just assumed this would not be filmed. This may be a silly question, but do final shows (especially shows like this that haven't been playing to full capacity) usually still do rush? I'm debating if I should get a ticket for then or just wait. Either way, though, definitely some great news.
They get papered.
Dame, thanks for the quick response. But I'm kind of confused. Does papered mean they just want to fill as many seats as possible, so there will be rush? Or that tickets are usually all sold ahead of time? Again, sorry if this seems repetitive, but I specifically changed my flight from 2/28 to the 3/2 so I could see the last show (I figured since I was leaving the day before the final performance that I might as well stay the weekend) and I actually prefer the rush/super-close seats with this show. Thank you again for your help.
Also, I am a little apprehensive since it seems from the image above (and also when I search for the best seats available on telecharge) that tickets are going fast. Do they usually wait to release more tickets or do you think this is really all they have left?
