Does anyone know what the plans are regarding the release of the Patti LuPone "Gypsy" CD?
It's being recorded by Timelife. It will be very complete and will feature 6 cut songs from the original production.

It's a very interesting question.
Apparently they've decided not to release the traditional album since there are so many cast albums of Gypsy out there.
They've decided instead to release a limited edition box set that includes, instead of the standard score, just an hour of fingernails scraping against a chalkboard, which during tests on lab rats was actually more pleasing and relaxing than La Lupone's voice.
I think it's an innovative and groundbreaking new plan and I fully endorse it. Anyone else who wants it has to get behind me in line, I'm afraid.
You are a real ass. It's getting tiresome.

Come on, come on, It's just a joke. I'll be buying it right along with everyone else. I have every other recording, I can't let this one slip away, even if I do never listen to it more than once.

Seriously BK, really?
Regardless of Patti, since when would anyone use the adjective "relaxing" when describing the score of GYPSY???
Like on WHAT planet?

Touche, logan.
I hereby offer my unconditional apology to everyone I rub the wrong way. Please take everything I say with a grain of salt, I'm usually just being funny or irreverent.
don't be that fanboy/girl who can't take a joke about their obsession :)
Thanks for the pearl of wisdom, but regardless of what my avatar is I'd never regard myself a "fanboy" in any respect possible.
As I said regardless of one's opinion of Patti, the score of Gypsy is not easy-listening.
P.S Oh yea, and I'd think a joke would require it to be funny in the first place, but that's just me.

Funny is in the ear/eye of the beholder, logan. I've gotten quite a few pms with guffaws about that joke.

I agree with logan0215....it's not funny in the first place. Period.

Will it REALLY be recorded by Timelife, and contain the six cut songs? That would be so cool...if that post was real.

Thanks. What's on these boards is kind of like the lottery: "Hey, ya never know!"
Is there a release date set?

Nothing on the timelife website. Can anyone confirm this with a website?

Patti, as an obsessive reader of this site, has ordered the recording canceled saying she refuses to cast her "pearls before swine."

pearls before swine."
LOL. That's hilarious.
but seriously, I want to apologize, I really don't mean to be rude, Im just a very irreverent person, but it really does pain me to know that I've hurt a person's feeling or worse yet made them pissed at me.
Mea culpa, bitches (See what I mean, I can hardly help myself!)
