HAIR - how is it doing now? (spring 2010)

There was a good piece (with photos) in the Telegraph magazine last Saturday.
I hope it's successful, if not no doubt The Stage headline will read 'Hair cut short'.

Saw the show last night and was blown away - really glad I waited and didn't see the show in NYC when I was there in Dec as this cast were just electric.

Amazing energy, fantastic performances, the audience were with them from the opening moments and Gavin had to wait ages before they could continue after I Got Life - the audiences response was wild.

I sat in the Dress circle, halfway up on the end of the row, stage left side. Amazing seats, great view of the whole stage and the tribe were up in the dress circle a lot so there was a lot of interaction, Will and Gavin were up there climbing over us a couple of times. Only downside is you don't get to go on stage at the end.

This is a must see though, such a refreshing show and change from the film into musical genre thats out there at the minute.

this cast was in NYC in December..i saw them twice in January. minus Bryce as Woof. shame you didn't get up on stage. even in mezz sections in the US there are exits to get down on the stage.

i want to see footage of the London show.

You can get on stage at the end, there are doors just behind the slips at the front of the dress circle that lead down into the stalls. I was there last night in the dress circle and was on stage before a lot of people in the stalls!

Anyone else spot the crazy lady dancing in the aisle and who pushed to the front of the stage in the dance party on Thursday? Clearly whacked out on something...

i need to talk to you before i book for London.

feel free to message me re seating. I've become an expert on the theatre's seating plan/layout of the show over the last few weeks, and now know which are the best seats to sit in etc!

Apparently they are limiting it to 200 people on stage so if you're upstairs, I'd hurry down quickly!

I asked at the box office about day seats yesterday. I think they said 20 tickets per day, 'best available' seats on sale from 10.30am - £20 weekdays, £25 Saturdays. If anyone has got day seats since it opened maybe they can chime in with what seats they were allocated?

When I saw this last year at the Al Hirscheld theatre, they emtied everyone who sat in the mezzanine on stage, the people in the orchestra remained seated.

did they have to remain seated? i saw a mass of people everywhere staying seated. i think repeat viewers may stay seated more.

i hope it isnt a chosen thing because i just went up regardless. :embarrassed:

It's not a chosen thing... people were just running up as they liked when I saw it. I don't know whether I'll go up again, don't want to be a creeper...

Not sure how you can use the word 'fantastic' for that? Come on! Its three words of 'Hair' and a couple of windows filled in with with the logo.

A random query. If I get a seat at Royal circle G5 am I likely to get harassed by hippies? (: I want to be for the record.
