'HAIR' Cast Question#1

Is Karen Olivo to be replaced in 'Hair' this summer since she's in a show? If so, anyone know who's playing Sheila instead? I'm just curious. Gratzi!

That seems to be the $10,000 question: one to which no one seems to know the anwswer, yet we are all impatiently waiting for the answer.

as much as i love the girl and her vocal chords, I never really thought she would make a good sheila in the first place. Just strikes me as odd.

This was announced yesterday but I didn't see a thread when I searched, Caren Lyn Manuel is going to be Sheila in Hair this summer. I think it's great casting.

I didn't know they'd cast Caren Lyn Manuel until now (when I saw it mentioned in one of the old extension press releases.)

Personally, I find her to be an extremely disappointing choice (especially considering the fact that she'll be following someone as terrific as Karen Olivo.)

Tonya Pinkins: Then we had a "Lot's Wife" last June that was my personal favorite. I'm still trying to get them to let me sing it at some performance where we get to sing an excerpt that's gone.

Caren has the look, pipes, and fiery personality for Sheila. I'd say the casting is spot-on.

I don't doubt that for a second :) The dredlocks, that voice... it's too perfect. Oh, there shall be many 5am mornings waiting online to see her rock it out over and over again...
