I'd be willing to bet that most of the current cast will be going out on tour.
I liked the cast. They were different than the OBC but good nonetheless. I'd say it was worth seeing.
I think the same thing. They were originally contracted for a year, since the middle of march, and the tour starts this fall. They're probably gonna start the tour with the current broadway cast, well, those willing to tour.
I think it's worth seeing in the smaller Broadway venue than most theatres on tour. The effect of the hippies running all over the audience is probably lost in a 3-level, 2500 seat house.
I liked the current cast as well, I saw the show last week. It was my first time seeing the show though so I have nothing to compare them to but I found them to be pretty good. I was entertained.

I believe so, I loved the current cast. While some of the current tribe might do the tour, I doubt many of the principals will.
I personally love this cast. By close, I will see the show with the current cast 6 times. I personally prefer them compare to the OBC, but that's just me.
The new group is definitely worth checking out! Go and enjoy!

I did not like this cast nearly as much as the previous one, but if you have nothing to compare them to...go for it. The current and London cast will be doing the tour.
If you see the tour, sit close. I can't imagine enjoying this production from the back of a tour house.

Current cast worth seeing? No less than Betty Buckley took in the show Tuesday and called this cast/version the best she's seen (and she saw the original). She's been blowing up my twitter feed tonight with praise for the show.
So yes, I'd say it is very much worth seeing the current cast.
I wouldn't count on seeing people like Gavin, Caissie, Diana, Ace, Kyle, or Annaleigh on the tour. A few of them have already told fans they've turned the tour down. I do think much of the tribe and swings will be made up of London and Broadway cast members though.
I would go. Echoing what skittles said about the space, since I think a lot of this cast will go on the tour. And in the event that they don't, I think they're worth seeing. I have come to like them, for the most part. The show is not what it used to be, but I still like this cast, and it has some very pleasant surprises.

It depends on what you mean by "worth it". A special trip just to see it? No. Choosing HAIR over a different show that is closing and perhaps NOT touring? No.
I am not a big see it on tour kind of gal in general. I find the experience lacking entirely. THIS cast? Is fine...but nothing worth rushing out to see.
The only lead I see possibly NOT touring is Diana DeGarmo. Both Ace and Kyle have done tours before. (Ace left the Grease tour to DO Hair, and Kyle was originally hired for the Spring Awakening Tour.)

I thought the current cast was first rate. I've seen the original cast in 1970, and countless tours and companies since. i did not see the current original cast. but i was very moved by the new cast/production.

dramamama611, Diana did the BKLYN national tour a few years ago as well, not to mention a number of regional productions since. Having said that, I don't think she will be on the Hair tour.

Echoing what orangeskittles said, the effect of this show can't be the same in a larger venue. Being able to see Hair on Broadway in NY shouldn't be missed if you have the opportunity.
I saw the show this past weekend and had an amazing time. When else can you dance on a Broadway stage!?
The only thing I didn't like was that I thought that Ace/Kyle fit the parts looks wise, but their voices weren't powerful enough. They made up for it otherwise and it really was a fantastic show.
We plan to see it on tour when it comes here to D.C. and I'll be sure to buy my tickets early so we can be close. Otherwise it takes away from the experience. No one should leave the show without a daisy and a be-in flier :)
Jeanette Bayardelle and Annaleigh Ashford were both fantastic though. I really loved Annaleigh's Jeannie.
We got to see Jay Johnson as Woof who was also hilarious and it was nice to see an original cast member in one of the leads.
Go see it. Lots of discounts available too.
Was it only a few years ago?
My point was that RECENTLY the other two have been willing. Time will tell.
