(just posted this over at ATC, sorry for the cut and paste but I'm late for work!) I just got off the train from Baltimore (which is quite painless by the way...the train that is) the show was fabulous! I was shocked at how well it looked and sounded for a 1st preview, they're really getting the Broadway production...Marc & Scott and Jerry Mitchell and Jack O'Brien were all there and seemed very happy afterwards...I can't think of a weak link in the cast, including Bruce Vilanch who can't duplicate Harvey's voice and takes, but got great laughs and might actually be kind of sweeter than Harvey...his Edna is less confident than Harvey's which makes it wonderful to see him blossom...and that girl Carly is fantastic, they are so lucky to keep finding such great Tracy's! she has a very pleasing voice and is REALLY funny, the funniest I've seen and except for Katy Grenfell, I've seen all the Tracy's! The Jackie Hoffman girl still has work to do, but she had moments that let you know she will get it down...Jackie may end up being harder to replace than Harvey!! I have to get to work (very late!) or I'd write more, but I am glad I schlepped down there, it is wild to think that every night there are now 2 great versions of HAIRSPRAY to see...I just re-read this post and I sound like a shill, but I honestly had nothing bad to say about it! oh, and the audience reaction was as good as it is on Broadway, but the Baltimore references made them go berserk! Essex Community College brought down the house!

oh my God, I am gonna be so late, but I was dying to get to computer to report (I've never posted before, this is much more fun than 'lurking'!) anyway, the Penny was VERY Kerry Butler, more so than Jen G....I don't think she dropped a single laugh. once again, I am shocked there are so many people out there with such voices and comic timing, it's great that they have a show to show it off! oh, and The Dynamites got the same response as Broadway too, it was really just like being at The Neil Simon.......re: re: re: HAIRSPRAY tour 1st preview David

Glad to hear that Sandra is doing well. I was lucky enough to see her when she went on as Maureen on the RENT tour and thought she was fabulous. Good to know she is a treat as Penny as well. Isn't she just the prettiest little thing too??
NOTE TO THE PRODUCERS :: When Kathy and Jen leave, bring Carly and Sandra to the Broadway compnay!! And bring back Alli too.

I went to high school with Austin and have done a show with him regionally since. He's very talented and a great guy all around. He's been doing tours and film work. This is his biggest role yet, i suppose, and he should get a lot of great attention for it. Another girl that went to high school with us saw his performance in Hairspray and said that he is incredible. I hope to catch it when it gets to Hartford. =)

someone just said that on ATC, but it never entered my mind watching...he has a sweet smiling face and a great voice...not at all the dancer that Chester is but very lovable...he didnt seem old at all...is he? well, Marissa was 30 and played Tracy! I guess make-up and hair and good old fashioned acting can make you forget! wish I had some of that! re: re: re: re: re: re: re: HAIRSPRAY tour 1st preview David

Go to Terron's website.. you can see grey hairs in the goatee, I swear! They must do a helluva makeup job on him then.

Zorro The Musical This is not the same production that starred Deborah Gibson (in LA I think). It was a World Premiere by TUTS in Houston.

yes you are the only one who thinks terron is Old. He's 29, That's the Lighting on his hair , and makeup ..you do know that the actors put makeup on there faces dont u? They need to make there faces show. He's not old, I think it's mean of you to say that.

I saw it at the Oriental in Chicago. CARLY IS MY HERO! She's 18 and from Michigan! Rock on CHica!

I loved the whole cast. Bruce was great, Penny was so friggin awesome and Seaweed was one of my favorites. Hopefully I'll be the next Tracy sometime *dreams* But the tour is the best! I saw it twice, and it's just as great from the Balcony as is the Orchestra seating.
