Posted: 1/26/11 at 6:10pmWas at this afternoon's performance. Nice curtain speech by Hugh Panaro, who brought Hal Prince on stage for some additional comments. Show looks great, and the improved sound system is a knockout.

Oh dear, that comment about the new sound system has me worried, It's one of the things I am most looking forward to hearing when I see it soon.
Happy 23rd and I truly hope it will atleast reach 30.

Posted: 1/27/11 at 12:53pmWhile the stagecraft is dazzling and the production values are outstanding, what is it about this show that makes people come back? I've seen it twice. I thought it looked and played great, but I didn't connect to any characters, I found the music trite and banal and the story contrived. Do people actually just sit slack-jawed looking at the damned thing and not care about the content? I guess so.

I would love to meet Hal Prince---just because I admire him.
ravnquest1--How discouraging about the sound system. Is there no one with authority who can hear what you hear? It's ridiculous to spend a lot of money to make something good worse!

Posted: 1/27/11 at 2:09pmI know Hal Prince slightly. He's a true gent, and very nice and encouraging to young people interested in the theatre. Glad to you hear you met him, Cape Twirl of Doom.
