He later released his self-titled Album and performed at the world-renowned Carnegie Hall. He discreetly participated in an HIV research and gets frequent medical screening that made him healthier than before.
Mark: Started making more independent movies and got a big break when his feature film about homelessness in NY won the best picture in the Sundance Film Festival.
Collins: Found a new love interest in the person of Tania Buena, the gay registered nurse who took care of Angel while in the hospital. He continued teaching in the University and got a post as Dean for LGBT Studies.
Joanne: Continued her job as an attorney and later ran for congress and won to become an avid advocate for Gay Rights.
Benny: Eventually got diagnosed as HIV+ from his years of unprotected one-night stands and occasional experimentation with bareback sex while on the "down-low" or having discreet sex with men.
Mimi: Kicked her drug addiction with the help of her supportive friends and was able to go to college and become a public school teacher.
Maureen: Pursued Bachelors of Science in Biology with future plans on becoming a Medical Doctor and bowed to find a cure for AIDS. She also started modeling on the side to pay for school and also made decent money while doing online porn.
Angel: Gets re-incarnated as a baby girl from a privileged family from upstate New York.
Tania Buena...Collins new love interest
The new character I made is 30ish year old Gay Registered Nurse Antonio Buena from the Philippines who lives in Chelsea, New York and he does occasional drag shows under the name Anna Lee but also goes with the name Tonette, Nonet or Tania amongst his closest friends.
Tania became the latest love interest of Tom Collins after a year when he realized that he could start the healing process by allowing himself to love another person who also loves him in return just as much as Angel have loved him.
Tania could fit in the RENT story when we introduce him as one of the medical personnel who took care of Angel when she got very sick and it became the avenue for Collins to meet Tania.
When Collins visit Angel at the hospital, Tania was always there to help them with anything possible to make them comfortable about the difficult situation of dying with AIDS.
Tania offers them medical advice, friendship and a passion for the nursing profession to the point that he almost live at the hospital with all the long hours and overtime.
Angel grew fond of Tania as the attending nurse and eventually as a friend because they have shared a lot in common as a gay man who have gone thru a lot of hardships in life, as a fashionista and also as a performer with a big heart.
Tania would bring Angel and Collins some delicately prepared Filipino food like Chicken Adobo over rice and some sumptous desserts like Leche Flan.
Tania have witnessed it all as a career nurse but it didn't prepare him for the death of Angel.
Collins became very good friends with Tania and started dating each other about a year after Angel's death.
Collins still hold Angel very dear to his heart and Tania knows that he could never replace her but holds Angels memory very dear to their hearts.
