Hmmm I was always told hot peppermint tea with lemon is good when you're sick and need to sing. Hahah thats what I was told at show choir camp, and it has worked wonders for me. Oooh and if I have a sore throat I take aleve because it reduces the swelling, I learned that from a pharmacist.
