HELP: Getting to Paper Mill Playhouse CARNIVAL! from Manhattan#0

Hey guys-
trying to get to Paper Mill tomorrow night for Carnival!
I know its the PATH out of Penn Station, prefer the direct to Millburn, and I've been on the njtransit website, but I am ready to gauge my eyes out.... I cannot figure it out. Maybe I'm stupid. I dunno.
Anyone know what time I could get there for a 7:30 show and what time the last train out is?
Thanks!

Posted: 3/7/06 at 10:21pmI checked the site. I can call NJ transit, but methinks that will just be more headache. Anyone know off the top of their head what I'm supposed to do to get there?

Since you're going on a weekday, two choices going
05:47 PM - 06:18 PM
06:16 PM - 06:56 PM
returning only one train
10:12 PM - 11:08 PM (change trains at Newark Broad Street)
if you don't make that 10:12pm, there are two later trains that take you to Hoboken; then you have to take the PATH $1.50 to get back to Manhattan; adds an extra 30 minutes
10:26 PM - 11:08 PM
11:25 PM - 12:02 AM

How is it a headache? A little time-consuming maybe.
The best is to go see a matinee on a weekend. No change of trains
required.
The area around Paper Mill is lovely. The theatre is right next to a big soccer field and on weekends you see the local kids playing.
Choice of restaurants. Perfectly "safe" to walk around there.

Papermill is a great theatre... one of the best in Jersey. Definitely worth any hassle to get there
(p.s. biased Jersey resident here)

Posted: 3/15/06 at 6:31amThis is not a very good production, though. Elena Shaddow: lovely (if plain) voice, but the acting abilities of a pencil. Paul Schoffler (sp?) was walking through his role. Only Charlie Pollock as Marco seemed to be engaged with anything going on onstage.

Elena's voice is in NO way plain, and it goes a little beyond lovely. Knowing some of Elena's past vocal work, I can tell you that it is CLEAR it was a direction she was given to not really color her voice with its MANY shadings.
Personally, I was astounded by her acting abilities. I have been a fan because of the extraordinary voice, and I always knew she could act, but I was truly amazed and thrilled wih her characterization.
While I missed cutesy Carnival! a little bit, there was MUCH I enjoyed in this production. Aside from Elena, Jennifer Allen and Paul Schoeffler, that opening was, imho, stunning.

I enjoyed this production of CARNIVAL! very much.
To the topic: If you attend the evening performance you will miss the last direct train back to NYC. You have to take the 10:26 pm train from Millburn to Hoboken, then change to the PATH train to either WTC or 33rd Street (it also stops at Christopher Street, 9th Street, 14th St, and 23rd St). It took me about 2 hours to get home to 67th & Broadway. Bring a good book and dress warmly, those outdoor stations can get chilly. BTW: PATH trains now take Metrocards. Nice.
