I was on Broadway Across America, and they listed High School Musical. Any info on WHY?

Our local venue that brings in named talent has decided to prodcue their own production of High School Musical this summer. I have been asked to direct it. We haven't had auditions yet and the show is completely sold out. I can see why there is going to be a tour.

I was in a production a few weeks ago. We had only planed:
Friday
Saturday
Saturday
Sunday
Thursday
Thursday
Friday
Saturday
Sunday
We were sold out and broke our box office records! We added
Tuesday
Wednesday
It's a crazy phenomenon. I was in a production that ran for a month and the talent of the leads was poor and we sold out every show.

It's called appealing to the lowest common denominator.
my Highschool is doing it now-we've done 2 shows for the public and our 3rd tonight and weve almost sold out for everyone. and theres been request to add more shows.
I just finished a 5 week run of HSM... we thought we were doing 3 shows a weekend, but it turned out we had to add a saturday matinee and a sunday night because it was selling so well! So we were doing 5 shows a weekend and sold out every show!
I'm sure that the original poster was simply asking WHY is this show being listed as a Broadway Across America offering if it wasn't on Broadway, etc, not WHY was this production existing.
We all know it sells well, as does anything Disney Channel related, like The Cheetah Girls, Hanna Montana, etc.
There was a Highschool Musical Tour with all the original leads except Zac because he was filming in Hairspray, it wasnt the story itself it was just the songs. Drew Seeley took over for Zac who was actually his singing voice in the movie.
Thats why its on there.
