So thrilled that he won, much deserved award. And although I thought at first that he was the first actor who also won a Tony for playwrighting, but of course Harvey Fierstein won both awards in the same season for TORCH SONG TRILOGY.
Are there any other actor/playwrights who have won Tonys for both categories?

However, Tracy Letts is the only Pulitzer Prize winning playwright to win a Tony Award for Best Actor in a Play.
Richly deserved, such a nice person at the stage door.
His performance as George is simply one of the best performances I'll ever see, him and Morton need to play husband and wife in as many plays as they can. They were electric.
The most powerful stage performance I have ever seen. And, yes, very nice, gracious, and actually kind of shy, at the stage door.

Great surprise!!!! It made the night for me.
He is an extraordinarily nice person, period. Caring, considerate, generous.
We should all wish him nothing but the best.
In some quarters, he'd be described as a mensch.
I concur with everyone here. This revival of V. Woolf is probably the most dynamic theater going experience I've ever had. I saw a matinee and the entire cast was just standing there chatting with the few of us who waited in Shubert Alley.
Hope they don't mess up the August movie!
